When we arrived at the place it was full, I think it's mostly because it's a very new establishment. Unfortunately, there wasn't any space available for us to be seated and when we spoke to the host, he said the next available appointment would be in another hour or so. We were told we can wait and hopefully a table opens up for us, which we decided to do. It is recommended that you book online for availability rather than waiting for a table to open up, like we did. My girlfriend and I had the Pork Spare Ribs 600g, Cheesy Nachos with Jalapeños and Avocado. For dessert, we had a Chocolate Brownie. I can only speak from my experience of eating the pork ribs, it had a very soft taste that was fall of the bone literally, complemented with a corn bread which had a sponge cake like consistency. Overall the staff are very friendly and helpful while the food is excellent. Just a bit more inside seating would be nice, especially for the winter season.

Was celebrating and wanted to have a something different from food to ambience for birthday lunch. Had nice succulent ribs, chicken, corn bread, garlic bread and one of the most crispy and fresh fries and creamed spinach. The staff is friendly and made sure we enjoyed our experience at Thornwood Valley. A great place for a date, family outing or even work outing.

The venue's atmosphere is ideal for drinks and rugby viewing, but I would not reccomend eating here. Service : The woman who seated us exhibited unacceptable behavior, pulling her face and rolling her eyes 🤣 when I simply asked to review the drinks menu before ordering. Thankfully , our waitress Bronwyn provided a stark contrast with her lovely attitude , or we would have walked out. Food: The menu is limited , the prices do not match the provided taste. Starter- Corn-Dog Basket R70 , the chips were delicious, well seasoned and crispy but the corn dogs were dry and not evenly battered. Main - 400g brisket platter R290. The brisket was delicious and tender , the coleslaw and chilli bean sides were tasty. The macaroni side was absolutely delicious and my favorite part of the whole meal. The corn bread was not to my liking. Main - pulled piggy pork burger , which i found bland and ended up giving to my partner to eat. Atmosphere: As a sports bar or hangout spot, this place has a great vibe, surrounded by beautiful scenery, including the dam and lovely trees, plus entertainment options like putt-putt and a casino.

Nice place we went to for dinner. Food is good quality tastes really good, the only thing: the portion size could be a little bit bigger. Nice variants of beer and friendly staff. Will come back during my next stay in East London.
