Most amazing place to visit if you looking to get away from the city life. Beautiful views of the river. Road trip close to the beaches. Amazing staff with impeccable service. I would definitely recommend going there and cant wait to visit again. They went over and beyond to make our stay comfortable and the food is of top quality. Thank you again for the amazing weekend.

⚠️ Review: A Profound Disappointment at Umgazana River Lodge My recent stay at Umgazana River Lodge was, quite frankly, an utter disappointment and the single worst accommodation experience during my visit to Port St. John's. Management and Service Issues The most immediate and concerning issue was the unprofessional and aggressive manner of the management. The lodge manager was consistently rude and dismissive, making us feel unwelcome and like a burden rather than paying guests. When I reported that items had been taken from my fridge by staff, the response was shockingly poor: I was told it was my fault for leaving "something desirable" in my room. This is a truly shameful approach to dealing with a serious complaint of theft. We experienced a significant failure in the promised dining service. The restaurant supposedly closes at 9:00 PM, yet when my team arrived at 8:30 PM, it was already closed. As a result, my team was forced to go to bed without dinner. Condition and Facilities The facilities are in a deplorable state, reflecting a severe lack of maintenance and care. The overall condition of the lodge is old and dirty. The rooms are in poor condition—they were damp and permeated with the smell of mold. Many of the advertised facilities are either run down or simply broken. For instance, the games room was consistently closed throughout our stay. Health and Comfort Concerns Fundamental guest needs were not met, creating serious discomfort and potential health concerns: Guests cannot drink the tap water, yet the establishment failed to provide any alternative drinking water. Based on this experience, it is clear that Umgazana River Lodge is severely mismanaged. The combination of its aggressive complaint-handling, failed services, and dilapidated facilities is unacceptable. If this is how the business is run, it is difficult to see how it can sustain operations. Conclusion: I strongly advise prospective travelers to avoid this establishment

The owner lied and refused to assist and ignored me after I've send the attached video. Definitely not worth the premium price they charge guests. I will inform the travel agent tomorrow as well, so that they remove this establishment from their database. My company nor any our affiliates will not support this place again. Pathetic service! This is definitely not the first time that it happens.

What a beautiful hidden gem. Outstanding service, saw to every little need especially from Rona, Hlengi & the ever vibrant Lusanda. Hats off to the chefs TJ & Mihlali food was excellent... the grilled hake and chips was certainly a hit. A definite must try. The rooms where neat, clean and tidy. The only 2 downsides where no wifi (but who cares & it's a bit far of abt 30 kms from town and a couple of potholes (but definitely worth a drive). Will be back again🎉🎊💯💫❤️
