Giving this place a 2 star because of the extremely thin walls. Our room was perfect and modern. We asked to see all the rooms before booking, and the staff were quite helpful and friendly. Little did we know we were choosing a room with quite thin walls. Heard everything our neighbours were doing. It was the most uncomfortable and indecent experience. If you are a parent with under 18s, do not visit here you will be so traumatized.

Second time coming to Umtali, service is great and the staff are friendly however the rooms have thin walls. I didn't sleep at all with a neighbour that was snoring all night. Don't like the fact that rooms don't have mini bar fridge and microwave. They serve food early in rooms and yet you don't have a place to warm and keep overnight..... definitely not coming back imagine struggling to sleep for 3 days straight simple because you can hear everything that is happening in other rooms

Great stop between Johannesburg and East London. One of a few places that has large family rooms for families with three children. Owner always remembers you from previous years. Restaurant serves delicious meals, although it is pricy. Beautiful landscaped surrounds with large trees, really relaxing after a long day's drive to hear wind whispering between leaves.
