My husband and I had the most incredible stay at Misty Mountain Reserve. From the breathtaking scenery and peaceful atmosphere to the exceptional hospitality of the staff, every moment was truly memorable. We were especially grateful that halaal food was available, and the meals were absolutely delicious. The pyramid accommodation was a unique and unforgettable experience, beautifully designed, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. It was the perfect getaway, and we couldn’t have asked for more. A definite 10/10 experience, and we look forward to returning in the future. Highly recommended! ✨🌿🏔️

We stayed at Misty Mountain Reserve, near Tsitsikamma, in a room called The Hives, specifically the Storm suite, and we can’t thank them enough for an absolutely unforgettable stay. From the moment we arrived, the friendly receptionist assisted us and made us feel so welcome. The food was fantastic, and every staff member was professional, proactive, and went above and beyond. The golf cart provided also made it so easy to get around the beautiful grounds. We’ll never forget this experience. Five stars all the way!

Don’t be fooled by the Instagram-perfect images of The Hives. They look great, but they’re impractical, poorly thought through, and the service at Misty Mountain doesn’t come close to justifying the price. We did receive a partial discount after giving feedback, but it shouldn’t have been necessary. From the unannounced rough dirt road (stressful and risky in a rental), late check-in, constant heat with ineffective air-con, flies everywhere, no soap, no iron, no table to eat at, no luggage space, slippery bathroom design, and genuinely unsafe outdoor bath cover — the room prioritises aesthetics over basic comfort. Storage is almost non-existent, and simple essentials are missing. Service was consistently clunky: package inclusions weren’t understood by staff, activities weren’t followed up, meals arrived late or wrong, and communication across teams was poor. Dining was hit and miss — great entrées, but inconsistent mains, confused package explanations, and noticeably weaker service on the second night. Breakfast service was sub-par, including weak coffee and basic requests like water being mishandled. Even checkout became an argument over what was actually included. Overall, the stay felt frustrating rather than relaxing. The domes chase Instagram likes instead of livability, and the operation feels undertrained and disjointed. For the nightly rate being charged, this experience falls well short of what’s being marketed as “premium”. Warm staff, yes — but the service and execution are nowhere near the level expected.

I had a wonderful massage with Dineo and I’m absolutely delighted. She was incredibly friendly and professional, and took great care to make the massage perfect for my needs. It was by far the best massage I’ve ever had — deeply relaxing and very effective. Everything was also very clean and well maintained, which I really appreciated. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. The food and the accommodation were absolutely amazing. If it weren’t so far away, I would definitely come back. I can highly recommend Dineo and the entire place!
