What an incredible experience! Anthony is such a gracious host - your stories and endless adventures kept us entertained and curious to know more. Listening to music from yesterday year amidst 1000s of books and CDs and LPs is an experience that feeds and soothes the soul. Thank you for creating such a unique experience in a town that seems to have been forgotten. We will be back with friends.

A truly wonderful experience! Anthony was an incredible host, accommodating and welcoming. He took us on tour of the facilities and then took us on a history tour of the town and concentration camps. A delightful warm friendly host incredibly knowledgable and articulate the characters that shaped Bethulie history!

We loved our stay at the Royal Hotel. Anthony and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were cosy and comfortable, the food was delicious, and we were in awe of the extensive book and vinyl record collection! A very special stay indeed.

We tried to get to see the Royal Hotel in Bethulie and Anthony's book and vinyl collection. We were passing through Bethulie on one of our many SA trips to visit the beautiful little towns of our country, and had read all about Anthony and his collection. We had also seen his Carte blanche interview so really wanted to witness it in person. We went to the hotel and found only the backdoor open. The whole hotel looked uninhabited. We phoned from outside and asked if we could visit, and were told that he could not help us that day and that if we wished to do a tour, we would have to book to stay at the hotel the next time we were passing through, as they only do tours for those staying with them. We were very irritated, as nowhere on the Internet is this stated, and also, I find it unbelievable that he goes on TV and on social media telling the world about a collection that in reality you are not allowed to see unless you stay in his hotel. Particularly given that the hotel certainly looks like no-one is home and uninhabited. Dont openly advertise what you have if you dont want anyone to see it.
