I am extremely disappointed and disgusted by the behaviour from the owner. She literally hung up on my as I was explaining my frustration to her. She could have called me back and calmed the situation but she didn't (nor do I think she cares enough too). Firstly, my family (hubby + 2 kids) checked in yesterday at 2pm. When we arrived our room had a fridge that was broken (I needed the fridge as we had milk and insulin we travel with). They replaced the fridge and hour later - happy. But then I went to use the gas portable stove and that was broken too. They replaced it but it has an empty canister in it. Mercy (the lady who helped us was wonderful), showed me the replacement canister on the kitchen counter - thank you Mercy. Then comes 9pm and I want to have a shower after I put the kids to bed (kids had a hot bath), only to find out that there is no hot water. Wrapped in a towel, I called the owner at 9pm ish.. she reject my called, I called me back but then hangup. So then I SMS messaged her like 7 times and called her 4 times just to be ignored. I didn't shower in the night but my husband has to had a cold shower in the middle of winter - unacceptable especially when we are paying R2000 a night!!! Then in the morning, we had hot water. When we went to breakfast, the owner called me back. Very defensive, tell me that Mercy told her that they are on solar. So I took the phone to Mercy and spoke to owner, my hubby and Mercy together. Apparently Mercy was supposed to have told us that it's a solar geyser but she didn't. So the owner says on the phone "I don't have time to be on the phone forever" or something like that. Like the heck lady!! We are paying for a service and we're not getting it!!! The owner didn't even apologise!!!! All the owner had to say was 'im so sorry for the inconvenience caused - we should have told you that we're on solar' but she didn't. Then as we are checking out, I get a bill for our dinner. We ordered 2 plates - one steak and one chicken tender (4 pieces). Can you believe, they charged us R500!!! R250 per plate!!!!!! DAY LIGHT ROBBERY!!! Like yes we could have asked how much it would cost but R250 for a place of 4 little strips of chicken tender! There was no menu provided, no pricing. It's really not okay. The lions are cool but honestly, I did NOT enjoy my engagement with the owner. I will not be recommending this venue for ppl who are just staying for one night. To the owner - I did not appreciate they way you hung up on me. You need to do better.

Booked our parents a weekend away and they absolutely loved it, they could not stop raving about how well they were looked after from arrival to their departure. They loved everything about this gem of a place and have even suggested that we go as a family and we are definitely looking forward to visiting. Thank you to the wonderful and lovely host who took care of our parents. I would highly recommend this place.

One of the nicest places myself and my family have had the privilege of staying at. Neat, clean and so well run. Mercy and Simba gave such amazing service. Electric blankets for the cold and heaters on the wall. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding with a full plate of everything, Fruit salad and Yoghurt to go with it. Cereal aswell if you want it with fresh juices and coffee and tea. a definite 5 star recommendation from us. Thank you for a lovely stay.

What an absolutely fantastic stay! We mentioned that we wanted to braai, and they prepared a braai stand, tongs and grid. The breakfast served the following morning exceeded all expectations. And it was very cool to wake up to a lion's encloser next to our unit the following morning.
