Although I did not stay at the hotel, I enjoyed both lunch and breakfast at De Stijl during my visit to Gariep Dam and was thoroughly impressed. The setting is exceptional, with beautiful views overlooking the dam that make it worth stopping for on their own. During the winter cold, the hotel was kept warm and comfortable, creating a welcoming atmosphere to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout my visit. Service was prompt without feeling rushed, and the overall experience was relaxed and enjoyable. Both the lunch and breakfast were delicious, well prepared, and generously portioned. What stood out most was the value for money. The quality of the food and the setting easily exceed what the pricing would suggest. Whether you are staying in the area or simply passing through, I would highly recommend stopping at De Stijl for a meal, a coffee, and the spectacular view over Gariep Dam.

The service was so friendly and the view was stunning. The only problem in the room was the air conditioning which did not work but the staff tried very hard to help with this. The restaurant was absolutely wonderfull - service excelkent and food evcellent . All the menu items that we had were delicious.

I was supposed to stay over in Bloemfontein. Yes there are some good hotels. Expensive though. But most places are aweful So I decided to drive on to de Stijl Hotel here at Gariep. Very clean rooms. Excellent service. Absoluut unbeatable view (The dam is currently 120% full) and

The No 1 place to ro overnight on your way down to Cape Town (and back). Lovely, spacious rooms with endless views over the Gariep Dam, and the most exquisite dinners in the elegantly appointed restaurant. We return every year!
