About Oak View Manor

How lucky are wethat this beautiful old landmark has been our family home for almost 70 years.

Commissioned in 1917 by Dr Nixon, one of two doctors in Luitenant Valentine's Manchester Infantry commando, this stately old home is said to have been built using mostly imported materials from the UK.To share it with youand make it more hospitality friendly a gentle evolution of sensitive restoration and well-considered alteration began in 2017. The idea remains to make ongoing improvements that appear to have always been there.This photowas taken in the spring of 2021 with restoration ongoing.

What a truly delightful experience! The venue was beautifully decorated, with incredible attention to detail that created a warm and elegant atmosphere. Every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, making the high tea both a feast for the eyes and the palate. A special thank you to Werna and Dina for their exceptional service. Their friendliness, professionalism and care made the occasion even more memorable. Nothing was too much trouble, and their attention to every detail was outstanding.

My friends and I had an amazing experience this weekend at Oakview Manor. The hospitality was exceptional, the food was delicious, and the suite was beautiful, comfortable, and well maintained. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the staff made us feel truly welcome. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Oakview Manor to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. Thank you for making our weekend so memorable!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful little lodge while in town for a wedding! Everything felt so thoughtfully curated, and the garden throughout the property was absolutely gorgeous. The owners are a lovely couple! They were so kind, welcoming, and attentive—and their two precious dogs were so sweet. The hospitality was truly exceptional! We also accidentally left an item behind, and they kindly mailed it all the way to us in Cape Town, which was incredibly thoughtful. We couldn’t recommend this place more highly and would love to return!

We were lucky enough to use this venue for our 60 wedding anniversary family function. We were not let down, Dina, Werner and there team went out of their way to make the function a great success. Thank you for your attention to detail, the food was very good, and the way you handled our group of 30 of all ages. Personal communication with all guests, to ensure that they were all OK. We will certainly recommend the Oak Manor as a venue for functions where all attending are treated. Thanks Dina, Werner and your team for such a great day. Ray and Beryl Senior
