Had an absolutely great experience at Zomerlust Country Estate. From booking to the wedding night. Debbie and her team was there every step of the way. Chanelle the wedding planner helped with everything setting up, making sure we were ok and everything was perfect for our evening. The food was delicious, all our guests could not stop talking about the food that was served. The venue is stunning and the bridal suit gorgeous for those getting ready photos. Thank you again for making our special day even more special and an experience to remember. Everything was 5 star.

Planning a wedding from Alberton means accepting one unavoidable reality: the roads will test both your suspension and your sanctification. The drive out to Zomerlust Country Estate took us about 25 minutes. Yes, there were potholes. Yes, the government is technically in charge of that. But honestly, once you start driving past Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve, you forget about all of it. The scenery shifts from busy city life to open landscapes and rolling hills. It feels like a hidden retreat right on Alberton’s doorstep. A real close secret getaway. By the time we arrived, we were already settling into a slower, calmer pace. That drive becomes part of the experience. It’s like your heart gets time to breathe before the celebration begins. When you enter the estate, the beauty speaks for itself. The peaceful surroundings, the gardens, the atmosphere. It feels relaxed and welcoming rather than commercial or rushed. What stood out to us even more was the freedom they gave us. We were able to add and remove elements as we wished. We could even manage aspects of the sound and music ourselves. There was no pressure, no upselling, no feeling of being boxed into rigid packages. They did not try to exploit us. They were there to serve. And that makes all the difference. The manager and her team were kind, flexible, and genuinely supportive throughout. When small challenges came up, they handled them with grace. You could sense that they cared about the couple, not just the contract. May God bless every staff member at Zomerlust for making our day of days unforgettable. They helped create a space where we could celebrate freely, joyfully, and peacefully. And that kind of service leaves a lasting mark on a marriage that is just beginning.

Unfortunately, our experience with this venue did not meet our expectations. While the venue itself has potential, we encountered several issues regarding food, communication, organisation, and service delivery. Commitments that were discussed prior to the event were not consistently fulfilled, which created unnecessary stress during what should have been a special occasion. We believe there is room for improvement in customer service and attention to detail. Based on our experience, we would encourage future clients to obtain all agreements in writing and maintain regular follow-up throughout the planning process.
