I stayed at this location back in 2005 as my first time in South Africa. I had a wonderful time with no complaints. Appreciated the breakfast. The son, Sonnie Boy, took me all over the city. I also hung out with some of the other family members. Definitely recommend for budget travellers.

MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS BEFORE MAKING A BOOKING IN THIS HOTEL. This guest house must either close down or make drastic changes. My wife and I arrived on 16/07/2016 at around 21h00. We were received by a sulky looking Pauline with nightdress and gown. No welcome with a smile. Only told us to complete a form and gave us the keys to the room. It looked as if we just arrived at her guest house to inconvenience and bother her. The bedroom looks bad, with a stinking carpet covered with lots of dirty marks. The tea cups gathered dust and has coffee marks on tne outside. You could clearly see that they were used before and were not properly cleaned. The kettle takes forever to heat up. The old oil heater has only three legs to stand and needs support to place underneath. The Dstv has not even one channel playing, not even radio. The tap on the basin in the bathroom is loose. The pillows has plastic kind of material on the inside that makes a lot of noise everytime you turn your head to the other side. The one light blanket supplied look very old with threads protruding from the edges. It is just a pain to sleep in this establishment. We had no choice as we only made a booking few minutes before because all others were fully booked. Our plan was to have breakfast in the morning, but we decided otherwise. Pauline who came to open the garage in the morning at 8h15 was still in her nightees. We were so happy to leave as we couldn't sleep peacefully the previous night. Fred Mabuse
