Stayed with my family for 4 days and would go back again next year. My only advise or comment is that: It would be nice to have microwaves in the rooms, upgrade to dstv even if it's access option and the wifi is very poor, please upgrade that as well. Other than that we had a great stay and like I said, I'm considering booking here every year when I come to run Comrades.

*Rating: 1/5 ⭐* *Title: Poor service, rude staff* I stayed at The Albany Hotel and was very disappointed. The service was slow and unhelpful from check-in,we arrived there around past 6 in the morning its fine we waited until our check-in time st 14:00 ,they told us that the room it's not done ,we fight with them but we didn't get any help we check-in around 14:35. Several staff members were rude and dismissive when I had questions. I expected much better hospitality. I would not recommend this hotel or return myself. *Option 2: Balanced but Clear* *Rating: 2/5 ⭐* *Title: Location okay, service needs work* The Albany Hotel has a decent location, but the service let it down. We experienced long wait times and the staff came across as rude and uninterested in helping guests. The room was not fine, was small and we were 3.the customer service really needs to improve. Hope management addresses this soon.Ah that’s frustrating 😕 A broken bar fridge + being denied coffee/sugar is definitely review-worthy. That changes it from just "rude staff" to actual service failures. Review - 0/5 ⭐* *Title: Poor service + basic amenities not working* I stayed at The Albany Hotel, Durban and had a really disappointing experience. *Service*: Staff were rude and dismissive from the start. When we asked for help, they were unhelpful. *Room issues*: The bar fridge in our room was not working at all. When we asked for coffee and sugar, they denied us even those basics. For a hotel, not providing coffee/sugar and having broken appliances is unacceptable. *Overall*: Between the rude staff and the room not being maintained, I would not recommend or return. Management needs to address staff training and basic room upkeep. *Why this works better:* 1. *Specific = taken seriously*: "Bar fridge not working" + "denied coffee/sugar" is harder for them to ignore than just "bad service". 2 *Tags the issues*: Broken amenities + denied basics + rude staff covers 3 big red flags. I will not recommend or return to Albany Hotel ever again, Albany spoiled my trip 😒 I'm home now but still not het over what happened there.very disappointed 😔

I recently stayed at Albany Hotel on the night of the 7th of April, and my experience was extremely disappointing. I had specifically booked a room with a single double bed, but upon arrival, I was offered a room with two separate beds instead. This was not what I paid for or expected. What made the situation worse was how it was handled by management. When I raised the issue, the manager (I don’t recall his name, but he was an Indian gentleman) responded dismissively, saying, “it’s fine, we will move one bed,” and then walked away without even confirming whether that solution worked for me. There was no attempt to properly address my concern or ensure I was satisfied. To add to the frustration, a security guard who accompanied him randomly asked me, “what’s my problem” in Zulu, which felt unprofessional and unnecessary. The overall interaction came across as dismissive and disrespectful. If the hotel no longer has the type of rooms that are advertised online, then bookings like mine should not be accepted in the first place. This feels like false marketing and creates a very poor customer experience. The staff seriously need to improve how they communicate with guests. You never know who you are dealing with, and basic respect and professionalism should always come first. Overall, this experience left a very negative impression, and I hope the hotel takes steps to address these issues.

Old TV set with SABC and eTV. Dust on chandelier. No chair, there was no complimentary water on the fridge. Dirty old carpets on the passage. Unstable tiling on room 49. Two set of not so clean towels and bathroom design is hideous and no towel provided for water dripping from shower as there is no enclosed fitting. Too loud fan and closet had only two hangers. You are compelled to pay for ironing service as the ironing set is not provided within the facility. You may only be deceived by the front desk. Sadly that's where anything good ends.
