One of the best establishments I have ever stayed at! I have worked in the hospitality industry for most of my life and so I tend to have pretty high standards when it comes to where I stay on holiday and Ironwood Lodge is now my number one go to holiday destination. I decided to take a trip on my own with my small chihuahua and Caron at Ironwood went out of her way to accommodate me with short notice. The rate was amazing and my unit even had its own small garden. The lodge is located perfectly as it’s 100% safe to simply take a 5 minute walk to the beach which is also dog friendly and quite secluded. The beach is spotless and so is Pennington, the community looks after everything so well! The people are so welcoming and friendly. I honestly felt like I was in another country! The lodge prepares a delicious breakfast daily and has self catering options as well. Their homemade muslie and Tomato and apricot jam is to die for! There is braai facilities and a lovely swimming pool situated in a beautiful garden setting. There are restaurants and shops nearby and a few fun places to go as well, Caron even took time to recommend pet friendly beaches and restaurants. I recommend Ironwood Lodge to anyone who is looking for a tranquil and relaxing environment either for a holiday or for a business trip!

Such a lovely place to stay. Caron was so helpful and friendly. She employed the most competent workers and all of them go out of their way to make your stay unforgettable. Thank you Caron for helping us making oast minute changes I was so scared to ask and you made the problem seems like something normal.

Pennington is the cutest coastal town. Here you can relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The accommodation at Ironwood Lodge is spacious, neat with attention to fine detail. The most stunning experience was watching the whales play in the sea every day, the view from my room was beautiful. The history of the Lodge and its ancestors make the place feel like home. Breakfast every morning was delicious. Owners and staff very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

Our experience with Ironwood Lodge was amazing. We loved the setup mainly because we had a fur baby (Ollie) as our travel companion. Prior to our arrival, Caron was checking in on us, and I remember on the day we made the booking she sent a pin location straight away... The place was clean, had a private garden and fresh towels provided on a daily, but most importantly for us, it felt like home... Caron is a Super Host and very accommodating. On the last day of our stay, as we prepared for checking out I was running late, super late and in turn I missed breakfast, but she insisted on me coming after breakfast hours and they kindly made me breakfast, and that kind of generosity is rare nowadays. If you want a quiet place surrounded by nature and the ocean, then Ironwood is that place. As a Bonus, you get an generous and caring host, who is genuinely concerned about the comfort and well-being of her guests at all times, again, another rare trait considering how most hosts tend to treat guests these days.
