This package was well worth it. I went with a large group of people from the 29th to 31st May. The rooms were not amazing but optimal and comfortable. I had 2 single beds as I shared with my mum and had more than enough space in the room. The facilities like the pool, outdoor area and entertainment were absolutely great. The service, like the other reviews state was extremely slow. This is expected for a large group as the staff are under pressure. So we were ignored a few times by waiters and bar tenders when it became very busy. So my overall score is based on management. The waiters are short in numbers, they are exhausted and seem overworked. The same with the bar staff. It seems management hasn’t employed enough waiters so the rest are under extreme pressure and are treated poorly by guests as whatever they ask for takes very long to come. This is not fair on the waiters. At the buffet, there is a different chef standing at each Bain Marie to dish you out each thing but it’s unnecessary as people are capable of dishing on their own - so they obviously work hard in preparing the food but once that’s done, they’re under utilised and the servers are over utilised. The shining star of my experience was the chef called Nthando. I told him I was vegan and had to say no more. Every shift he was there, he prepared me something so special and so unique. Now that is hospitality in its truest form. He was kind, polite, talented. The chef I had on the Saturday night was sub optimal compared to Nthando. The food was basic, bland, I really didn’t want to eat it to be honest. The establishment should be so proud of having a chef like Nthando because in all honesty I think he is suitable for a 7* accomodation. My mum who eats meat, enjoyed the food at the buffet and loved every minute of her time there. I will definitely visit again and again and highly recommend this place.

What a beautiful place to relax and unwind. I saw a client here as a day visitor. Upon walking into the hotel there was no staff member actively welcoming unbooked walk ins so we politely went to the bar and ask the barman to be served by the pool area and he agreed. Quite a few minutes later a friendly staff member tended to us, and left us in peace to enjoy the view. The same staff member came and told us we were supposed to pay for a day visitors fee and let us know the different options available with calmness and a professional demeanor. Upon joining the lunch buffet we were slightly scolded by what appeared to be the manager who assumed we walked in and made ourselves at home as he was non the wiser about the meet and greet with the bartender. All this to say the staff could work better on communication and working together to provide guests with a smoother experience to not show the guests perhaps some of the panic behind the scenes as they provide a clean experience for the guests. The buffet staff were very professional one noting that I'm a vegan without me saying anything, giving me advice about the a la carte option that may have been better for me as I was heading for seconds on the salad options. I appreciated this despite really enjoying the fresh salads and fries and savory rice available with the buffet. The food was delicious, and I would return and check out other options. Buffet at 180 (approx) per person for their lunch option. There was a friendly cat encounter, which I enjoyed but perhaps not everyone would like a furry friend whilst at a resort, my client informed there are quite a few on the premises. Hopefully some kind of symbiosis can be achieved where guests who maybe dislike or have a phobia of cats can enjoy this beautiful place and the cats can be safe and play their role in the ecosystem. The resort has a curio shop and different pockets of lovely areas from the bar, outdoor beach bar, to the pool, to the kiddie pool, fountain pool, little wood fired restaurant area, and the large chess board play area from what I could see. Lovely atmosphere, would return to this place.

We just got back from Blue Marlin and I can honestly say it was one of the best resort experiences we’ve had. The place is beautiful, the cuisine tasty and it just kept getting better each day. What made it incredible was the people. A huge shoutout to: Nombuso at reception – Welcomed us with a warm smile, sorted everything out seamlessly, and made check-in feel effortless. Cedrick & his team – Had an issue with the fridge and sink and they fixed it so quickly. Professional, friendly, and problem solved before we even finished our coffee. Qiniso (Q) & Siya at the bar – The best hosts. Always remembered our drinks, great conversation, and made every evening feel relaxed and fun. Kwanele & Africa from beach surf – Made our time on the beach unforgettable. Patient, energetic, and genuinely passionate about what they do. A big shoutout the Dj’s and his team who always brought the fun elements to each day. The service across the board was attentive, genuine, and fast without ever feeling rushed. It’s clear this team takes pride in offering out-of-the-ordinary experiences. We absolutely cannot wait to go back. If you’re looking for a resort that combines a great location with truly amazing service, book Blue Marlin. You won’t regret it. Thank you to the whole team for making our trip so special!

This hotel is in a great location in terms of the views and access to the beach which is a walking distance, however the exterior of the hotel looks sketchy when you arrive, even the parking area, I would give that an upgrade cause first impressions count the most. The reception is decent and the staff there is extremely friendly. The hotel rooms are very clean, even though the carpet needs a deep clean but there is no smell at all and sheets are clean. The hot water takes long to come, so I would look into that cause that’s gonna make your water bill high just running water that long. The main buffet restaurant, it’s too dark in there, it needs an upgrade eventually. I don’t like the hotel being open to the public, it brings in a sense of no privacy and it ends up making it look tacky if I’m being honest. The staff in the restaurant is too few, the food was a good but I think lunch should not be as heavy as dinner. Maybe options like wings, pizzas, burgers, salads, seafood then the dinner remains as it is which is great. The tea time, wow, fresh cakes but I would allocate someone there also to control how much is dished cause people tend to take too much. Breakfast was good for a three star, but the finish time at 9:30 on a holiday is too early😭 . Overall, my kids had an amazing time, the staff for kids are a 10/10, it gives you time as a parent to get a break because the kids are fully entertained so that you have nailed it! Pool area has a warm pool, that’s fantastic, and a cold pool with slides, love it. Bar staff, excellent & friendly. Once the hotel is upgraded and restaurant staff gets more training, this is going to be an excellent place to bring the family!
