I had a pleasant stay overall — the hotel’s interior design is beautiful and creates a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, with one lady at the training area standing out for her patience and attentiveness even with difficult guests. Breakfast service could be improved, as the egg station setup leads to long waits. Adding more pans at the egg station, offering milder dinner options, and ensuring enough coffee/tea cups would make the dining experience smoother. Lastly, having adjustable climate control in the rooms would greatly improve comfort on cold days.

From the moment I arrived, everything about my stay exceeded expectations. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making me feel at home. The room was spotless, beautifully prepared, and offered all the comforts I needed for a relaxing visit. What stood out most was the overall atmosphere—welcoming, professional, yet personal. Every detail, from the smooth check-in process to the thoughtful touches throughout my stay, reflected a high standard of care. The experience wasn’t just about accommodation; it was about feeling valued. Whether it was the delicious meals, the efficient service, or the friendly conversations, each moment contributed to a sense of ease and enjoyment. I left not only refreshed but also grateful for such a seamless and uplifting experience. Truly a great stay, and an even greater memory.

I am writing to formally share feedback regarding our recent stay at your hotel. While we appreciated several aspects of the experience, there were a number of operational and maintenance issues that significantly affected the overall quality of our visit. During our two-night stay, we were required to move rooms four times due to HVAC-related issues in three separate rooms. On the first evening, the team kindly moved us into an upgraded room, which we appreciated. However, we were unfortunately not informed that this upgrade would apply only for that single night. As a result, we were required to pack and relocate again the following morning on short notice, which created unnecessary inconvenience and disruption to the start of our day. Even in the final room we occupied on the second night, the stay was not entirely without issue. The bathroom basin drained very slowly, suggesting a possible plumbing or maintenance concern. While this may seem like a minor matter in isolation, when considered alongside the multiple room changes and HVAC failures, it contributed to the overall impression that certain maintenance matters may require closer attention within the property. I would like to emphasize that throughout these challenges, the hotel staff were consistently friendly, courteous, and professional. They did their best to assist us during each room change, and their positive attitude did not go unnoticed. However, it also appeared that these types of issues may be relatively common, which understandably places staff in a difficult position when trying to manage guest expectations. I am sharing this feedback in the hope that it assists management in identifying areas where operational improvements and maintenance attention may enhance the overall guest experience.

I have been a long-standing client of aha Gateway Hotel and have continued returning for two main reasons. Firstly, the staff have always been exceptionally friendly and welcoming, which has consistently made my stays enjoyable. Secondly, the hotel’s location is incredibly convenient. Everything you need is within walking distance, which is a huge advantage for someone like me who does not enjoy driving. Being able to walk to nearby shops, restaurants, and amenities has always been a major selling point. However, I was disappointed during my stay this past week. Unlike my usual short visits, I stayed for a full week. Frequent travellers will understand that one of the ways to maintain some normality while away from home is by occasionally changing up your meals. As I have done during previous stays, I bought takeaway food for supper and requested an empty plate and cutlery from the hotel. To my surprise, my request was refused. What made the situation more frustrating is that this has never happened during any of my previous stays. If there has been a policy change regarding such requests, guests should be informed at check-in. That is simply common courtesy and helps avoid uncomfortable situations. Instead, I found myself having to eat my meal from the paper packaging without proper utensils. I can perhaps understand a stricter approach for a one-night guest, but after staying at the hotel for an entire week and dining from the same restaurant menu repeatedly, the lack of flexibility was disappointing. This experience left me feeling let down by a hotel I have supported for many years. The staff friendliness and excellent location remain strengths, but customer service is often measured by how small requests are handled. Unfortunately, on this occasion, aha Gateway Hotel fell short. Shame on you, aha Gateway Hotel.
