We were booked in the Berghuis from 20 March - 23 March. as we are working in a safehouse with 25 kids (12 babies) rest and a good night's sleep is crucial. The beds in the Chalet is in terrible condition, not only is the bases making noises but the mattresses is off poor quality!!!! Meaning sleep was off the ticklist 😭😭😭

Well established, well run and well maintained (except for the poor condition of the putt-putt). We camped for the month of February, which was not ideal, as the female Marula trees 'rained' marulas. My husband made marula jam!! Also, be aware that if you want to camp at the bottom section, the R33 is very noisy while they are working on the R101. It is only 5 to 6km from Bela Bela town, so you miss the potholes. Meals are cooked 3 times a week at the restaurant (you can order a take-away) if you want a break from cooking, and the food at the restaurant is tasty and reasonably priced. As it is pet- friendly, you do hear dogs yapping by the restaurant. Pancakes are sold every Friday and Saturday by the pool and there is a little second-hand book stall. Lovely super tube, beautiful lawns, nice atmosphere and fun to see little bushbuck walking around.

We went to Maroela Oase for some quiet time. We had one day of peace sitting in the hot water pool. Then there arrived groups of children. Our peace flew out the window. No rules applied to them. I enjoy kids having fun providing they abide by the rules. I complained, and was promised that they will make sure that the rules are not broken. For the rest of our stay we were not able to get near the hot water pool, there was no adult supervision. The noise was unbearable until after 22h00 so much that we couldn't sleep. I sent management an email but they did not even bother to acknowledge my mail. I will not advise any of my friends or family to visit at Maroela Oase. Bad experience.

Our experience at this resort was very disappointing. The room was dusty upon arrival and in clear need of general maintenance. We also had issues with the appliances; the fridge was leaking, and the stove was faulty. To make matters worse, we have not received our deposit back, even though it has been more than the five days stated in our agreement. They have been rude when we followed up. We will not be returning and cannot recommend it to others.
