Meadow Cottage at Sequoia Garden Retreat is a true sanctuary, perfect for anyone looking to escape into the tranquility of nature. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, with lush greenery and peaceful ponds, the natural beauty here is truly unmatchable. Mornings bring the gentle sounds of birds and rustling leaves, offering a sense of calm and peace that makes it easy to unwind. The cottage itself is fully equipped and thoughtfully maintained to ensure maximum comfort. With a well-stocked kitchen and cozy, tasteful decor, every detail feels carefully considered, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. We found everything we needed to prepare meals and relax comfortably, truly adding to the experience. The staff at Sequoia Garden Retreat are friendly and welcoming, always available to assist and ensure a pleasant stay. Their warmth adds an extra layer of charm to this already beautiful place. Meadow Cottage is an absolute gem for anyone seeking peace and rejuvenation, and we left feeling refreshed, already looking forward to our next visit.

We haven't stayed at the cottage but we regularly either picnic or fish here. It's one of my favourite places with beautiful gardens, small lakes, stunning flowers in summer and spring, beautiful trees and just the best calming atmosphere. I am currently searching for an excuse to stay at the cottage because the location is ideal and the cottage's exterior looks cozy and inviting. I wholeheartedly recommend it if you are able to enjoy the gardens responsibly.

Summary: The Croft Cottage on the Sequoia Gardens offered us an idyllic retreat, ideal for a young couple seeking a peaceful escape. The cottage is beautifully maintained, and the attention to detail is evident throughout. It is well-equipped with everything you might need, and the cozy ambiance, especially with the fireplace crackling away, makes it feel like a home away from home. The cleanliness and the spacious, functional bathroom added to the comfort of our stay. Ample firewood was supplied for the fireplace. Location & Attractions: The location is superb, providing a secluded feel while still being conveniently close to all the attractions in Haenertsburg and Magoebaskloof. With the renowned Zwakalala Brewery just a stone’s throw away and the delightful Pot 'n Plow restaurant around the corner, you’ll find no shortage of places to explore and enjoy. Check-in: The check-in and check-out processes were straightforward, with clear instructions that made the self-service easy and stress-free. The added security feature of an alarm system provided peace of mind, particularly for us coming from Gauteng. Surroundings: Surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, the property offers plenty of activities and scenic walking trails, perfect for those who love the outdoors. We visited during winter and the bare trees had it's own charm, however we could only imagine how breathtakingly beautiful it will be during summer. Overall, The Croft Cottage delivers excellent value for money. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay, and we look forward to returning in the future. Last night we escaped to the wonderful Sequoia Garden Retreat and the very delightful Meadow Cottage. This stone walled little house overlooks a dam with a spectacular forest and colorful shrubs as the backdrop. The beams from the afternoon sun coming through the large glass wall makes the whole room glow. It was so relaxing to take a walk through the forest, exploring trees that are well marked and coming back to the cottage to listen to a frog musical, a fish eagle and more. It is stylish, fresh, clean and private and a perfect escape for a romantic getaway. As it is self-catering and far from the closest shopping, you need to plan your stay and shopping well ahead. We left in the mist feeling absolutely reinvigorated
