We decided on a getaway and found Welgelegen Manor a lovely experience. With it's history of the property, the accommodation and staff were fantastic. This is the kind of location you can get away for a getaway and just relax and not worry about anything. We were given amazing service from Connie, Norman and Lindy and they were amazing. The entire team there are warm and friendly, taking the time to make sure you were comfortable and relaxed. Norman was amazing, making you you feel special and making Welgelegen Manor your home away from home. Meals were creative and delicious. I loved Lindy's creativity in the kitchen. I highly recommend staying here.

Equisite hideaway, close to Johannesburg, near Balfour perfect to recharge one's batteries! A magnificent Sir Herbert Baker manor house at the highest standard of luxury.

The Manor is absolutely a unique flashback in time stay at a historic cape dutch style manner, and the quality of the rooms (very spacious), bedding and food was very much five star. Ronel and her team are genuinely attentive and no need was unmet. Unfortunately the immediate neihbourhood of Balfour is very impoverished and we’d not wish to arrive here at night - its too far off the N3 along a poor potholed road to be a good stopover point along the N3. But as a historical stay or romantic getaway, it was definitely unique. Note, the google maps location is the entrance gate, but the Manor is thankfully about 2km off the main road on a fenced estate.

The most amazing hotel ...I felt like we were in Downton Abbey! The food was absolutely exceptional and Eddie, the chef, is to be commended and the service from Norman and Ronel and their team was exemplary. I would highly recommend this venue for a family gathering or a function!
