Fernbank farm is nestled in a beautiful valley surrounded by rolling hills with vast open vistas of the Mpumalanga escarpment. Our three well stocked still waters offer the passionate fly fishing enthusiast exciting angling opportunities to pursue hard fighting rainbow and brown trout. Nature lovers enjoy the freedom to take a walk , cycle or game drive with exciting game viewing including numerous wildlife species and enjoyable birding opportunities. For the weary traveller, we are situated just minutes off the main route between Nelspruit and Pretoria/Johannesburg and offer convenient overnight to break the long journey. We also offer overnight facilities to those attending a wedding at the local wedding venues in the area.

Absolutely incredible experience at this fly fishing lodge! From the moment we arrived, everything was top-class — the setting is breathtaking, surrounded by pristine waters and stunning natural beauty. The accommodation was comfortable and beautifully maintained, and the attention to detail really stood out. Every day felt like a new adventure, with plenty of fish and unforgettable moments. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or just starting out, this lodge is the perfect destination. I’ll definitely be back — highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing yet exciting getaway!

Absolute gem of a place! Lovely hosts, stunning cabins, stunning views and the most gorgeous scene for sunset drinks. Highly recommended and very good value for money. Fell in love with the place.

Fernbank Farm is a home away from home! A lovely place to relax and unwind. The accommodation is excellent with all the amenities you would require. The fly fishing is great! The hosts always go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. We have been back multiple times and will continue to visit this lovely farm.
