We stayed there for 2 nights and was made very welcome by our hosts Hector and Pinkie. The rooms are very neat and clean and you could easily call this home from home. I will recommend this establishment to those of you who need a well-deserved breakaway. Good value for money

The Water Mill Guest House – A Cozy Farm-Style Haven Set in the heart of the Panorama Route, The Water Mill Guest House is a charming farm-style retreat with antique furniture, warm textures, and a truly cozy atmosphere. The host is exceptional—welcoming, attentive, and full of local insight. Breakfast is a highlight: fresh, delicious, and served with care. It’s a safe, peaceful spot for solo travelers, and its location puts you right next to the region’s most breathtaking scenery. A perfect blend of comfort, character, and convenience.

This place was such a disappointment for us. Our room had a strong odour caused by the damp, wet walls, and the smell was so bad that it had transferred onto the bedding. We honestly just couldn’t wait to wake up and leave. The staff were kind and hospitable, but on arrival we were told that with regards to breakfast, “we’ll see what we can get for breakfast if we get it.” At that point, we just asked for a refund for the breakfast because we wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. I personally wouldn’t return to this guesthouse, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Unfortunately, it’s just not worth it.

Took our deposit 3 months before our arrival. Arrived to find that owner had sublet the entire premises for 5 years on a Government contract to house homeless people from the E.Cape.
