Tinga lodge by more collection was both one of the most memorable stays I’ve experienced and unique. The concierge service from the point of arrival and attention to detail with the level of personalisation from the get go set this game reserve apart! The beautifully designed reception/ lobby you walk through extending into a stunning view of the river with lush Green trees to the rooms. The thoughtful touches like an assigned butler/having the same dedicated staff throughout the whole duration of your stay made you feel like you were being cared for by a team of people that genuinely knew you. It was evident that there had been much thought given to every detail in the rooms from the selection of drinks that filled your own complimentary mini bar, coffee/ tea selection and quality of amenities in the room, and mountain-view balconies—made the stay feel indulgent, comfortable and special.
The restaurant was outstanding; offering seasonal menus and the ability to cater to all dietary requirements and excellent service. The serene views only elevated the experience.
The outdoor plunge pools in the room in nature, the gym hut surrounded by animals and nature whilst working out was really a unique experience. Even though we did not get an opportunity on this stay to experience the spa treatments the interior design was outstanding. The onsite shop supported local communities and small designers which was a nice touch and these designers were further promoted by staff wearing some of thee beautiful garments as part of their uniform and products such as the intricate place mats sold being utilised in the restaurant.
Exceptional people delivered exceptional service making our stay truly special throughout and one of a kind in South Africa. Stand outs that went above and beyond during our stay and I have to mention were benny and MP and then are our very knowledgable and charismatic guide Ollie and very very good tracker Heaven on the game drives, who have definitely equipped us well for any animal trivia back in the city!
Overall, what makes this reserve exceptional is how seamlessly everything comes together — thoughtful service, beautiful surroundings, and genuine care that makes you feel less like a guest and more like you’re being hosted in a home away from home. Worth the price and couldn’t recommend a stay here more highly!
