About Whispering Thorns

Whispering Thorns, Mpumalanga Wedding Venues, is a picturesque guest farm situated in White River, in the heart of the north eastern part of Mpumalanga, close to the Kruger National Park.

The farm boasts a charming glass venue and chapel, along with a country guest house, which lends itself to a unique setting in which couples are able to experience their dream wedding. The contemporary design of their glass facaded venue and chapel, allow guests to encounter that perfect “get away” feeling. The farm is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the Lowveld. They offer an exquisite stay whilst being surrounded by the delightful backdrop of the panorama of the grassland of the Lowveld. The beautiful venue can accommodate a maximum of 200 guests and the accommodation facilities are able to host 24 guests. They also offer an excellent team, consisting of an in-house florist, wedding coordinator and bridal consultant. The perfect wedding expert team to help plan unforgettable weddings. Because Whispering Thorns is located in an area of considerable scenic beauty, the climate is said to be one of the best in South Africa; neither excessively hot in summer when rainfall is at its highest, nor overly cold during the sunny winters. The farm is 34 hectares and houses a growing macadamia orchard. Designed to make the most of its natural setting, their unique guest farm is set amongst spreading natural grassland and numerous thorn trees. Given this backdrop, the farm lends itself perfectly to large special occasions. You can also take time to spot some small wildlife including impala, Nyala & side striped jackal. Try some bird watching or simply relax alongside the manicured gardens. Attended a wedding at Whispering thorns and thought this establishment and the people running it are very deserving of a good review. The grounds and gardens are unusual and very beautiful. The accommodation was top class, with so much attention to detail being paid by the staff. The wedding reception itself, was one of the best I have ever been to. The food, the service, the ambiance and the hosting were all of exceptionally high quality. Whispering Thornes is a rare gem and was such a memorable wedding event. Well done to the people who make this happen and please keep up the attention to detail, quality and high standards afforded to your guests.

Had my sons wedding and all I can say is, what an amazing venue, with fantastic food, a great band and awesome people. Hats off to all those that made it all happen. The accommodation was was out of this world and worth every cent. A big shout out goes to Catherine who made us feel so welcome and attended to our every need, especially taking up with us rowdy bunch and giving us free reign to use the bar area until wee hours of the morning. GIVE THAT LADY A MEDAL!!! In short..... 5 STAR!!!
