Chitwa Chitwa is AMAZING! Their staff, the food, the lodge, the views, and the guides were PHENOMINAL!!! DEON and Bethel were very knowledgeable and put us on SO MANY animals. Paying for a private reserve is not cheap, but they made it worth every penny. We saw the big 5 in the first TWO DAYS!!! Every day we saw over 10 animals on game drives and from our lodge there were different animals that passed by every day. They wash your clothes every day and clean your room twice a day! The food changes every day and was SO GOOD! I can't say enough good things about this place. Shout out to Nico, Monica, and Busi who made sure everything was fantastic. We already discussed coming back with some friends in a couple of years. We have so many great photos that we will be making a book.

Over Thanksgiving 2026 my family of 12 stayed at the Chitwa Chitwa Game Lodge and had an amazing experience. Because there were 12 of us it was basically a private experience (with maybe one or two other couples staying at the lodge at the same time as us). The food was incredible, everything we ate during each service was amazing. Our rooms had spectacular views overlooking the lake/pond and the included laundry service was a huge bounce since safari took place on the second half of our trip. Each member of the team was pleasant and accommodating. Dan our guide did an incredible job. We saw everything we wanted to see over the course of 7 days. To be honest we saw a majority of the big 5 during the first day or two of our stay. The only reason this review isnt a 5/5 is because at checkout we were not made aware that some spirits were premiums and not included in our package, so it was a bit of a surprise when we received the final bill at checkout. Apart from that one piece, everything was incredible. I would highly recommend Chitwa Chitwa for a couples trip or family trip.

Chitwa Chitwa is nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment you arrive, you’re immersed in a setting that feels both luxurious and deeply connected to nature. The lodge is breathtaking, perched right beside a dam where we regularly watched hippos gliding through the water and elephants gathering to drink. The rooms are simply spectacular, beautifully designed with a balance of contemporary elegance and authentic African charm. What truly sets Chitwa Chitwa apart, however, is the exceptional service. Every single person made us feel genuinely cared for. Busi (the manager) and Monica greeted us with such warmth after every game drive, making us feel completely at home. Chef Virginia’s meals were unforgettable, each one a highlight, and Gugu’s attentive, joyful service made every dining experience feel special. We chose Chitwa Chitwa for our “Buddymoon” following our wedding, and it was the perfect celebration, romantic, magical, and beyond our wildest expectations. Our game drives were absolutely phenomenal, thanks to Colin, our incredibly knowledgeable guide, and Moses, our outstanding tracker, who went above and beyond to ensure every drive was unforgettable and filled with extraordinary wildlife encounters. This is the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave. We are already dreaming of our return, and every one of our friends is now counting down the days until they can experience it for themselves. Chitwa Chitwa is truly world-class.

Our stay at Chitwa Chitwa for our honeymoon was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how stunning the lodge is. The design and décor strike the perfect balance between luxury and comfort, and our room was incredibly spacious with an exceptionally comfortable bed, making it a perfect place to relax between activities. The food was another highlight of our stay. Every meal was varied, thoughtfully prepared, and of the highest quality. The all-inclusive offering truly lives up to its name, and the chef consistently delivered interesting and delicious dishes that we looked forward to each day. What truly sets Chitwa Chitwa apart, however, is its people. The warmth and care from the team made all the difference. We especially loved seeing our waitress, Lea, each day. She went above and beyond to accommodate anything we needed and made us feel completely looked after at all times. A very special thank you to our incredible guide and tracker, Deon and Beth. Their knowledge of the reserve is remarkable, and their passion for what they do shines through in every interaction. They were always happy to answer our many questions and made every game drive both educational and exciting. We were fortunate enough to see all of the Big 5, which was an unforgettable experience. Even when the weather started off quite rainy, Deon and Beth ensured our game drives remained enjoyable, and somehow still made sundowners feel special and exciting. The lodge itself also offers fantastic amenities. The spa was excellent, and there is something truly magical about having breakfast overlooking a watering hole while watching hippos playing in the water. My husband and I are already planning our next trip back, and we wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else. Chitwa Chitwa holds a very special place in our hearts, and we cannot wait to return.
