This place is brilliant. They can't do enough for you. Our tracker Joyce was so knowledgeable and funny (as was Simon), she and guide Simon work so well together. They were so much fun to be with while taking their job seriously. They found us all the animals we wanted to see. I'd highly recommend Lion Sands.

My stay at Lion Sands River Lodge was absolutely incredible. I truly did not want to leave. Everything about the experience exceeded my expectations. The property itself is beautiful and peaceful, with stunning views that make you feel completely immersed in the surrounding nature. The room was wonderful. It was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. It was the perfect place to relax after game drives. The food was also excellent, with every meal being delicious and well prepared. What truly made the experience special was the staff. Everyone was so warm, attentive, and welcoming, which made the stay feel very personal. A special thank you to our guide, Dumi. He was amazing! He was so kind, knowledgeable, and always helpful. He made every drive exciting and memorable. Lion Sands River Lodge is a truly lovely property with outstanding service. I would absolutely come back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Best service and accommodation, ever. Gorgeous, romantic cabins, great food everywhere and the smiling amazingly helpful staff meeting our every need/request. Our guide, Sam, is perhaps the best guide in South Africa which is not surprising given his years of experience and that he is third generation. Of course, with the assistance of our great spotter, we saw the Big 5 in addition to about 50 other gorgeous creatures . It was the best trip of our lives, my favorite accommodations ever, and the service was stellar! Many thanks to the entire team.

Our five-night stay at Lion Sands Ivory Lodge was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, every detail was thoughtfully considered, making our time there truly unforgettable. A special thank you to Bianca at the front of house, she was such a joy to speak to every day and her care made this trip that much more enjoyable. Our safari experience would not have been the same without our amazing field guild Mendrew and our tracker Brian. Their level of knowledge, passion and teamwork showed throughout every game drive. To tracking Leopards in the dark, lions in the rain and having drinks watching the sunset - they went above and beyond to make every drive exciting and unique. We saw the Big 5 plus so much more. The whole team at Ivory Lodge is exceptional, including the housekeepers, chefs and wait staff - they make you feel at home and can’t do enough. The lodge itself is beautiful and the best part is you can see loads of the animals whilst sitting and having breakfast or a drink in the afternoon. Thank you to the whole team for making my birthday so special and personal! They made me my favourite cake, decorated my room and got me gifts, it was the perfect place to turn 30! We made memories we’ll never forget and friends we hope to see again one day, Lion Sands Ivory Lodge is a magical place and if you’re considering a safari - this is a once in a lifetime experience and I highly recommend.
