I stayed here over the weekend and, while I understand it’s considered one of the better options in Standerton, my experience was unfortunately not great. The main issue was cleanliness — the towels had a strong unpleasant smell, and even after requesting fresh ones, the replacements had the same problem. The room itself also had a damp, mouldy smell, which made the stay quite uncomfortable. It’s hard to say if it was coming from the towels or the room in general, but it definitely needs attention. Breakfast was quite basic, and the filter coffee tasted diluted, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, the stay didn’t meet expectations.

Stayed at this establishment over the weekend with my family. Place is decent breakfast is an average. What ruined my stay was the bath towels they all smelled mouldy and old like they haven’t been washed or dried correctly even after asking for fresh towels those ones also smelt mouldy and old. And the rooms smells really bad don’t know if it’s the drains or what.

Good service, clean rooms with good water pressure in the shower. Highly recommended

I had such a lovely stay at Appledew Guesthouse while there for a performance, in Standerton! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which immediately makes you feel at home. The location is excellent – convenient and easy to get around – and the rooms are comfortable with spacious bathrooms that make your stay extra relaxing. It’s the perfect mix of comfort, hospitality, and convenience. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Standerton! 🌸
