I had booked 3 family rooms, on arrival everything seemed fine though not 5 Star standard but staff members were nice. I was disappointed that our rooms were not all serviced on 23 May 2026. Room 222 was properly cleaned, room 223 was partially cleaned as we were trying to get ready to go out for supper and room 220 was not serviced at all. The morning of 23 May 2026 my family and I were shuttled in a minibus to the Cabanas hotel to go to Water World from the Cascades hotel without any issues. However, on return,  my siblings were treated with a stinking attitude and were condescendingly questioned on whether " they are sure that they are staying at the Cascades" by a driver named Tsholo, I suppose we are not worthy to be at this hotel according to her very high standards.  I have no issues with being questioned, however the manner of approach as well as the tone should not in any way be condescending, the attitude of this lady was also witnessed by the staff at Cabanas who told my siblings and children that "it is not allowed".  Looking them up and down and shouting that there's too many people, YES my family could not fit into a BMW X3 as were initially transported in  a minibus and don't expect to fit in a small car. I did confront this person and asked that she treat us with respect. She said "sorry" with no remorse or even acknowledging how she looked down on my family. Please inform Tsholo that Kindness goes a long way and it costs absolutely nothing. What a way to ruin someone's day... It is worth noting that restaurant staff, potters as well as concierge staff were nothing short of amazing. The pool was warm which was a pleasant surprise considering how cold the weather was, my family definitely enjoyed it. But I will certainly not return in a hurry to this hotel as it seems that my family and I are not worthy guests. We do not match their 5 star standards.

Good day. To whom this may concern. Booked a room at the Cascades room 1205 from Tuesday the 28th April till the 1st May. I have had very bad service. 1. No turn down service 2. Tv never worked 3. All tea stations was never refilled 4. Bathroom soaps etc wasn't refilled 5. No towels 6. Shower flooded 7. Phone keep switching off. Every day/night I had to call and request things. This really was a very bad experience for a 5 star hotel. I would rate this a 1 star hotel. I believe that the cheapest hotel in the sun city resort (cabanas) offers a way better service than a so called 5 star hotel. We had family staying in the main hotel and they had a better service compared to what was expected at the Cascades. Room was better/ neater and all service was 100%. Regards to the turn down service. We wasn't even in the room and never had the private sign on the door but they said we was sleeping and that's why never did it. Next night we told them we are leaving come back in a hour that was before 7pm and nothing. And that is when I had enough and completed about all of this issues and did this mail. I think its a waste of money booking a so called 5 star hotel and not getting whats expected. Wish I had read reviews before booking the Cascades... You want suggestions make the: Main hotel 5 star Cabanas 5 star Cascades 1 star Its really disappointing that we pay for a 5 star and only get 1 star service.

Sun city cascades While the facilities (Valley of the waves, Waterworld, hotel pool, aviary) was nice, the Cascades hotel quality has sadly declined. The hotel is in desperate need of a renovation, the service is poor and the quality of food is not on par with a 5 star hotel. I booked a family room at substantial cost & despite the room being ok, the bathroom was very small. The space between the toilet & shower screen was so small that our knees pressed up against the glass screen. I requested another room with a bigger bathroom but was told that there was nothing they could do. This despite the hotel having under 30% occupancy. The breakfast was ok , nothing special but the baked goods that were served on the Sunday, we brought out the next morning & served again. The banana cake, Poppy cake & some croissant varieties were stale. As was the bread, despite being toasted. On days 2 to 4, we were told the normal full buffet breakfast would not be served. Instead, a continental buffet would be served & eggs can be ordered off the a la carte menu. This was inadequate and very disappointing for a supposed 5 star hotel. The service at reception, at the restuarant and by housekeeping (inconsistent, not replenishing bathroom items) was very poor. This hotel has sadly declined over the years, in more ways than 1. This should be downgraded to a 3 star hotel at best. There's nothing making it 5 star anymore

"Exceptional Leadership and a World-Class Stay" We recently returned from an unforgettable stay at the Cascades Hotel, and we cannot praise the team enough. A special thank you to the Hotel Manager Ayanda…whose hands-on leadership is evident in every detail of the resort's operation. From the seamless check-in to the attentive service at breakfast, it’s clear that guest satisfaction is the top priority here. What truly set this experience apart was the staff. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and valued. The hotel itself is an oasis of calm, the rooms were incredibly comfortable and clean. We loved the lush tropical gardens and the iconic glass elevator that offers those breathtaking panoramic views of the resort. The central location made it so easy to access Sun Central and the Valley of Waves. If you’re looking for a sophisticated, peaceful escape in the heart of Sun City, this is it. We’ll definitely be back!
