We stayed for 3 nights and added on breakfast. Oryx house was well-equipped and really spacious and suited our needs well. The breakfasts were consistently great. The fat bikes were a fun way to meander around the farm. The staff were very welcoming and friendly to my kids- explored the tiny tortoises in the greenhouse. We didn't do any of the extra activities as it rained - but we were very cosy in the house. Took off one star as the swim dam at Oryx was algaed over and when i just stood on the step to check the water it was so slippery I submerged instantly! a bit risky with that amount of algae- but aside from that an absolutely brilliant stay very close to Sutherland so we could visit SALT for the day tour and the tiny Planetarium in the town..

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Rogge Cloof. We had a warm welcome with interesting explanations about the farm. We were told we could do a wine tasting and we were blown away by the high-quality of the wines which were a real unexpected discovery for us. The accommodation is super comfortable and the big windows allow for nice star gazing from the room (which is even better during their stargazing activity by night during which we could see some interesting features!). The sunrise game drive was fun and we spotted black wildebeest, a porcupine, mongoose, lots of springbok, tortoises, gemsbok... The real highlight of our stay was the cheetah tracking. Rogge Cloof is home to a few cheetahs that have been rewilded and now live in full autonomy on the large property. Their are collared and with the the right equipment we followed our field guide, first by car and then on foot, to track one of them. We got to see the cheetah, who had just caught a springbok, from up close and spend some magic moments observing her before leaving her to her meal. We love the ethics that the team preserve around this activity, were impressed by the passion and knowledge of our guide and can warmly recommend a stay here for a true Karoo experience!

I can't say enough wonderful things about the incredible staff at this lodge! But one person who truly stood out was Warren. Every day, he went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of. I wholeheartedly recommend this amazing place a thousand times over!

We were warmly welcomed to our spacious, comfortable Orion Suites, with a cozy fireplace and incredible attention to detail in the interior decoration! The views of the unique, peaceful semi-desert with grazing springbuck were picturesque! We were overwhelmed by the excellent service, friendliness and warm hospitality of the staff! The cuisine was excellent and so beautifully presented and worked wonderfully with the own locally produced wine. Our field drive was very informative and visiting the two resident cheetahs was a highlight. The fossil tour was absolutely spectacular, we were overwhelmed by the abundance of Permian fossils! What a magical place!! We loved every moment of our stay at Rogge Cloof and will definitely be back!!
