Not at all as on the website. Fridge not making cold. Aircon leaking. Toilet dirty No place to walk full of thorns Flies and cockroaches. Kids play area. Not at all the same. Disguisting.

We’ve stayed here several times in the past and genuinely enjoy the setting- close to the river, quiet, with beautiful orange sunsets. Unfortunately, recurring infrastructure issues (most often WiFi, electricity, and water) were the reason we skipped the resort for a couple of years. On our return from Namibia this year, my wife and I decided to give it another try, but regrettably those same issues remain unresolved. The air-con could not be set below 22°C in 40+ degree heat, the shower pressure was extremely weak, and there was an electricity outage of nearly an hour on our 2nd morning, only addressed after follow-up. The power went out again around 11pm on our final night. It was restored again after about 15 minutes. Reliable WiFi was essential for remote work and was confirmed in advance, yet the connection failed after 6pm on our 2nd day and was never restored. Multiple attempts to contact the listed hostess, Marna, went unanswered, leaving us without connectivity for the remainder of the stay. Mary-Ann was helpful and professional within her capacity, but overall maintenance and responsiveness remain a concern. The resort has clear potential; however, until core infrastructure - particularly WiFi, electricity, and water is reliably addressed, it’s difficult to recommend, especially for working guests.

For the full Upington and Orange River experience Riva Resort is a must! Helpful staff, great rooms that are clean and welcoming. If you are traveling through the Upington area then I suggest you do a sleepover at Riva Resort, or if you want to break away for a weekend. Also great camp sites. Always a security guard on duty as well.
