Extraordinary. One for the bucket list. Neat and clean. Friendly owners. Must do.

This accommodation in the Northern Cape is unique. There are three main accommodations on this farm, namely a Corbelled House, a Tree House and another house, all with history dating back over a 100 years. We stayed in the Corbelled house which was an experience in itself. The uniqueness of this accommodation was something we had never experienced before, and was true value for money considering the little we actually paid for it. Its pet friendly, and our host Natasha, went out of her way to assist us, check on us, and show us around the property. This place is a little bit isolated, being about 30 km's south of Carnarvon (between Carnarvon and Loxton), but well worth the detour (on a good road) to have this sort of experience. We rate this property 10 out of 10. Well done indeed!

It was such an honour to sleep in the Korbeel huisie. Natasha with prior arrangement, left meat and goodies in the fridge to make braaibroodjies, since we travelled by bike and didn't carry food. The house is also removed from the farmhouse and very peaceful.

I have stayed here three times and loved it every time. It is a fascinating experience to spend a night in a corbelled house and the one at Osfontein is comfortable, has everything I need and is a peaceful retreat on a sheep farm beneath stunning night skies. It is self catering accommodation and the kitchen has two gas rings to cook on, and a fridge. The hosts offer braai meat for sale and there is a braai stand on the stone veranda outside the door. Well worth a visit, it is one of my favourite places to stay in the Karoo.
