The rooms are super clean and neat. Very practical layout - especially the houses in the front row facing the road. The road noise was not a bother. Loved the walk-in shower - lots of space. Great server - great location for overnight stay when crossing the border. We loved it. Especially the wild life that hides when you get to close. Only observation - extend that promised WiFi to all the rooms - it would be appreciated.

The service we received was truly exceptional. The gentleman assisting us went above and beyond to accommodate us at a very inconvenient time of the evening. He was incredibly flexible, kind, and genuinely generous — the kind of hospitality that stays with you long after your trip. The lodge itself is beautiful. The facilities are amazing and well‑kept, with a pretty, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel instantly relaxed. The mountain views are absolutely stunning, adding so much charm to the stay. I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for comfort, warmth, and outstanding service. I would happily stay here again.

By far the friendliest and most hospitable people I’ve ever had the pleasure of booking with. They went out of their way to make myself and my associates feel right at home, I almost forgot I was on a work trip every time I had breakfast and dinner. Thank you guys for your hospitality and I hope you enjoy your trip to Madeira this year. I don’t know when I’ll be returning to Vioolsdrift but I know where I’ll be staying when I do!!!

Amazing hosts! Thanks for having us, wont stay anywhere else on our border crossings. They organised pizza for our very late arrival and even a couple ice cold beers. Room was clean and cold(perfect for the november heat). Thanks again, Dean.
