I just want to give a big thank you to Ian, Louise and the lovely ladies at the estate for being so accommodating and making me and my wife's honeymoon so special. Our stay was so peaceful and the room was alot more spacious than we initially thought. The service we received for the week that we stayed at this lovely, picturesque establishment was absolutely extraordinary. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived till the moment we left. Not only was the breakfast delicious but we also got very helpful recommendations on places to visit during our stay. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Had a wonderful time at this beautiful estate. Ian was incredibly welcoming and took the time to show us around and explain everything. Hope to come back one day — thank you, Ian! @Ian

Despite our booking stating a 14h00 check in on Saturday 19th July 2025 we arrived to everything being locked. We took a walk around the estate only to find the current poor state of the pool and general untidiness of the bar and outside area which was disappointing as we enjoyed our previous stays at the establishment pre Covid. I called Ian who received us wearing no shoes and like he had just woken up. No refreshments offered after our long drive from Cape Town furthermore to inform us that the restaurant and bar area would be closed despite it being a Saturday night which meant we would need to go back to Swellendam for lunch and dinner which wasn’t feasible or at best inconvenient upon which Ian agreed and we left to find alternative accommodation for the night. We booked The Fraser Jones King Room - En Suite Bed & Breakfast. When we were shown our room we had 2 additional single beds in the room but we were only 2 people. On Monday the 21st July 2025 we email the hotel informing them of our disappointment and tomorrow the 26th July 2025 will be a week with no response from Rotterdam Estate. Very disappointing as the location is great.
