What an utter embarrassment for a venue that claims to be “number one” in Cape Town. MolenVliet may have breathtaking views, but that is where the experience ends. The service is shockingly poor, disorganised, and completely unworthy of what you pay for it. When a wedding venue manages to put the bride and groom in the wrong room, you know something is fundamentally broken. I raised my dissatisfaction directly with MolenVliet, hoping for some level of accountability or even basic courtesy. Not even a phone call. Nothing. It is clear they simply do not care - that comes across loud and clear from the moment they don't greet you at check in to when they make you pay for a bill they can't share with you because they are "offline". Do yourself a favour. Save your money and your sanity. There are plenty of venues that offer both beautiful views and a level of service that actually matches the occasion. This is not one of them.

Our stay here was just perfect. The hospitality on point. Somehow staff, like Olivia & Zaan was already waiting at the curb as we pulled up to unload our car and lead us to our suite. The reception desk must have tipped them off. What a statement of 5 star professionalism. The warmth of hospitality didn’t stop there. As the days continued, Chef Cassius became a memorable part of our stay. Unbeknownst to us he would discreetly listen to our request to a waitstaff, or notice our search for something and before you know it, with a warm smile, it appears. He even delivered hot tea to my sick husband who couldn’t leave the room. He’d stop at our breakfast table sincerely showing personal interest. An easy going conversation with him about wine & tea, led us to start to ordering a glass of Brut with breakfast each morning. Which then led to the purchase of whole bottle to take home. It’s a real skill to up sale without making guest feel sold. He was just being him. He also made recommendations to us based on our ideas & desires to the day. We valued his validations & cautions. He managed to do it ALL each day. So did also the ladies working each day. No wonder they all leave at 7pm! So get your goodies for the room or have your dinner plans arranged because it’s quiet staff wise until the next morning. These operational hours really wasn’t a big deal once we were there. The Mountain View Suite, the River Manor ( for breakfast & wine tasting) the pool area, is in fresh, well up to date decor and beautifully chosen furnishings. The whole properties upkeep perfectly managed. Perhaps the property is new or newly renovated? Either way this newness made the stay so elevated & luxurious. The continental breakfast (served indoor or out) was plentiful with a changing variety each day and coffee made to order. The walk from the River Manor parking was not the most desirable, especially at night. The one way road in and out the property was no fun when a car is coming, but what can you do. The WhatsApp communication with reception was quick & pleasantly helpful with restaurant reservations and other matters. Our only recommendation is about the wine tasting presentation. The person who gave it leaned heavily on how Molenvliet is more of a wedding venue and not really for the non wedding guest. As non wedding guest this can be a little isolating. It’s our recommendation to speak highly of the things that ARE offered to regular guest. Offer knowledge or an interactive experience of the wines offered during the tastings. This would hold up to the standard offered at the other wine estates. A beautiful arrangement of cheeses, breads and fruits were offered for the tasting so that was nice. Overall our stay was memorable and we will share with everyone SA & American to stay at Molenvliet.

My partner and I had the most beautiful time at MolenVliet. From the moment we arrived, we were completely in awe of the spectacular views. We were welcomed by the lovely Julene, who went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. We honestly couldn’t recommend this place more highly!

We stayed for one night and had a lovely stay. The rooms are spacious and finished to a high quality. Loved the private pool and view from the balcony. It’s a very quiet property but we did feel safe. However, you need to make plans for dinner as there’s no restaurant on site. Staff were all very formerly and helpful, tasty breakfast and it really is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay.
