When dealing with the City of Cape Town, you get the worst of the worst service and no one is taken to book or takes responsibility. I hired the hall for my sons special occasion, we celebrated his 21st.From the time I booked the hall, I started running into problems already. I had to send through a number of times.Tried calling them on 3 different numbers, no answer. I started getting worried as no confirmation was communicated to me. I finally visited the hall 2 weeks before the event and the staff there verbally confirmed that the hall was booked. I then visited the hall again the day before the event and the staff informed me that there was a double booking as there was another event to take place the morning. They gave me there supervisors contact number, who promised me that the hall would be ready, when my event starts. There would also be 3 staff to clean up. On the day of my event when I arrived at the hall, the other event was not cleared and there were still people busy there. This caused my planning to be ruined and ended up paying more for services, I had hired. After 2 hours of waiting, I had to request the people who were still there and caterters to move out of the hall, as my guest were waiting outside already and my event was suppose to have started. We ended up cleaning the hall. There was no time to put up my displays. I had to get the event started and to welcome my guest. The display stuff just had to be scattered and not as we planned. We were informed a hour before the event that we had to get done by the caretaker as his lift was on its way. No consideration given in allowing extra time and that we had paid a deposit, so that if the event ran later, then the monies could have been withdrawn from the deposit. We were forced to pack up. After complaining to the City of Cape Town they paid my deposit back a month later. They would only refund me for the 2 hours and that would take a further 6 to 8 weeks after the deposit was paid. No responsibility was taken with regards to my extra expenses and the inconvenience caused.

It was a terrific venue for the rehearsal of the Cape Winds ensemble and the Nelson Mandela pipe band. Good parking and spacious hall.

Very cosy hall...well done City of Cape Town

Nice venue for a small to mid size function. Lots of parking space for guests. All amenities are neat and clean.
