Beautiful hotel with garden gorgeous courtyard (that I is unfortunately closed off in the winter), ideal location 200 Rand one way to popular waterfront area by taxi. Very friendly welcoming staff. My issue was no counter space at the bathroom sink and absolutely minimal shelf space in the spacious shower (A little table or corner shelf would have been greatly appreciated). Also hotel doesn't provide hair conditioner....these 2 important things make it a 3.5 star rather than a 4.5 star for me.

I first visited the Winchester Hotel around February 2026 with a friend. We’re both from Johannesburg, and unfortunately we had missed breakfast that day—yet we were craving all things croissanty and eggy 😭🤍 What stood out most, though, was how incredibly kind the staff were. The ladies at reception were so warm and lovely that I told myself I’d definitely return because of the hospitality alone. They even recommended that we try the buffet next time. Well… long story short, I came back today and I finally had the buffet 👏🏽 Everything was absolutely on point from start to finish. Thank you for the warmth, gentleness, and exceptional hospitality. The service felt truly premium. Highly recommend 🙏🏽🤍

I have been a patron of this hotel for many years and previously enjoyed the casual vibes feel at the hotel. This visit was completely different. Not sure what has happened to service. The staff all seem to have no care attitudes. Not helping with bags not caring about service. Actually the only good service experience was at the pool. Reception offering a bottle of wine and a welcome letter from management while telling me I cannot drop my bags off if there is no parking for me but rather should manage my bags from wherever I find parking in the street. No help whatsoever when leaving with bags just staff stating on as we battle in our own. Four star hotel with 5 star prices and 2 star service.

This is such a beautiful hotel with excellent staff and a superior location. It faces the Atlantic Ocean and has a pickup and drop-off for the city tours bus right across the street. Behind the hotel is a gorgeous view of table mountain. The rooms are beautiful. The staff is friendly. And the breakfast is excellent.
