We love this place, and visited a good few times already. However, yesterday we ordered a pizza at the Italian Pizza. We had the most expensive pizza on the menu, but we must say, it was disgusting. It was supposed to have bacon, salami, mince, onion etc. But we could not find bacon, we suspect there was broken-up pork bangers on, the "salami" was like cheap polony. Even the cheese was questionable. Really a waste of our money. My advice, avoid the pizzas. The food at Plaasmol is much better. Almost everything we had at Plaasmol was enjoyable. I will definitely visit Kleine Hopefield again, but will never buy the pizza.

Stopped here to get some lunch on my way home after working in langebaan for the weekend. Very cool place and friendly staff. However the food was disappointing. I ordered a roosterkoek with just cheese and bottle of coke. Paid R55 for a small and not much of meal roosterkoek and R25 for a buddy coke. Thought that was a bit pricey. Pizzas looked good though so maybe I'll order that next time. Still a lekker spot though.

What a treat and a true step into yesteryear. The DC-3 outside is a remarkable piece of history. Originally built for the US Air Force and loaned to the UK during World War II, did a few years in Scotland before it was later acquired by Ethiopian Airlines, where it served for +-33 years before being repurposed for aerial mapping work over Ethiopia and Djibouti. After decades of service, the aircraft was sold to the now-closed Ratanga Junction in Cape Town, before eventually finding its final resting place in Hopefield. While it’s a little worse for wear, it remains a powerful artefact of aviation history and one that truly deserves preservation. The restaurant itself is filled with items from a bygone era, and I really enjoyed pointing these out to my son. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to eat there this time… but that just gives us a reason to return.

There is nothing small about kleine Hopefield. Great for families with lots to see and do. If you ever on the R45, make a stop, you won't be disappointed
