About Ochre Venue @ Cafe Gannet

The Ochre Venue is part of the Old Post Tree Square in Mossel Bay. The venue is close to the harbour, Santos Beach and the Dias Museum.

Accommodation is available on the premises at the Protea Hotel Mossel Bay. It is also ideally located, with many beautiful places of worship within a short distance of the reception venue. Ceremonies on Santos Beach can also be arranged. Catering is done by the Cafe Gannet restaurant, which has been operating since 1988. Excellent service, waitress is very attentive and kows how to think ahead. Prices are normal and the food is delicious. You pay the same price somewhere else but your food quality and service is fenominal! Will not eat anywhere else in Mosselbay.

Such a relaxing atmosphere, and the chairs are so comfortable that we wanted to enjoy the experience until the restaurant closed. The food was very tasteful and well presented; overall experience 5/5. Great selection of cocktails as well.

Service was lovely and the vibe was nice but for me food was disappointing. Had the king flip en croute but it was a bit bland and overcooked! However the calamari was some of the best I’ve ever had so maybe I just chose badly!

Stunning restaurant, loved the aestetic! Some of the best seafood i have ever had 10/10 recommended. Definitely coming back for the gin distillery and lunch.
