Nestled in the heart of the Elgin Valley, Old Mac Daddy offers a naturally beautiful setting for relaxed, unforgettable weddings.

Surrounded by apple orchards, pine forests and mountain views, our venue is ideal for couples dreaming of a laid-back, outdoor-inspired celebration. A scenic lakeside lawn provides the perfect ceremony location, while our iconic indoor-outdoor Barn creates a vibrant space for dining, dancing and celebrating with loved ones. Old Mac Daddy can accommodate up to 56 overnight wedding guests, with an additional 20 guests on day beds in select units. Our restaurant and Barn can host up to 100 seated guests for your ceremony or reception. Just an hour from Cape Town, with plenty of nearby accommodation and activities, Old Mac Daddy offers a complete destination wedding experience where friends, nature and celebration come together effortlessly.

I was there for a wedding, so I can't speak for the regular day-to-day running but the place and team there were incredible. The event coordinator we dealt with Michelle was really hands-on, quick with ideas and just so friendly. The staff were really accommodating with requests, the rooms were great, the plunge pools/jacuzzis were cool and freshly prepared for our stay. The breakfast was great and (their?) caterers for the wedding were brilliant! Hats off to Becky's (spelling unsure) homemade duck patê 😋 The lake/dam/beach was a really nice place to socialise the day before the wedding and use the SUP's, kayaks, generally swim or even have a go at the archery in the next bay. The site was big, felt safe and very scenic. The bonus for me was the low light pollution (i.e., make sure you have a torch), I was able to get some incredible Astro-photographs. Looking at it as a wedding venue? I would say it would be worth considering Looking to go there for a day out for the activities? Definitely worth a trip. There is also the South Hill Vineyard "on the other side of the road" which was really nice to extend the visit in the area. Thanks again to the team there!

The Klein Paradys tiny homes was a great getaway to relax and unwind. The different themed homes are great for couples/two person retreat and unique. The self-catering units are fully equipped if one is not making use of the restaurant. The braai facilities are great and splash pool just right to cooldown in hot weather. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. Definitely a must getaway if in/passing Elgin!

Went as a family of 7 adults and 1 toddler to celebrate my 70th.. Each of us had an Airstream trailer which was super. 2 of these had hot tubs. We had a wonderful, relaxing time. They come with breakfast which was a good portion, both cold choices and an English breakfast. We ate here a few times during our stay, both lunch and dinner. The food was good. The service can be a bit slow especially as we had a large group for a conference for the last few days. There is plenty to do at Mac Daddy's as well as nearby. I would definitely recommend it.

Staff are very friendly and happy. Location is beautiful Units are old and tired, very little maintenance on the unit we stayed in. Cleanliness not a real priority. But cute place to take small kids
