I can't begin to explain how much of a wonderful time I had at Bertha’s Retreat. From the story behind the property, the rooms, the food and most importantly the staff, it was top tier all the way through. To Lerato and the team, you have something special on your hands and thank you for allowing us to be apart of that experience. I can't wait to go back and participate in some of the community building that takes place. 10/10 would highly recommend ☺️

This was my 4th time visiting Bertha, it is an enclave of peace, serenity and joy. The cottages are a homage to the farm workers of past by being named after the families who made Boschendal what it is today. There is an intentionality behind the carbon footprint, the food, the air and the food growing. New additions like the rock pool offer a welcome respite. I wish I could go to Bertha's Retreat once a month. ps. dont forget to take in all the framed imagery; a South African history lesson just by walking down the passage in your cottage. A tremendous place.

We were immediately impressed with the beauty of the surroundings, the quality of the finishings and the fact that alot of the trees on the property were actually fruit bearing trees. Some of the fruit even made it into the food that was served, which was also delicious. The service was excellent! The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive, and I cannot wait to be back.

What an amazing experience On entry the tranquility and awesome service from.entry to exit encouraged me to ensure a team building event in the very near future The accommodation and food was very good! I truly recommend you try your team building or group meetings there
