I have been wanting to visit Long Thin Farm for a while now and happily, I was able to visit this past weekend. I stayed in Milkwood cottage and straight away had such a welcoming feeling. I loved loved loved the loungers and seating on the patio which allowed for hours of enjoying the view of the river and the many birds that visited. The cottage had everything we could possibly need and the enclosed garden was perfect to allow our pup to explore safely. We weren’t there long before we were exploring the mountain walking trail behind the cottage. The walk treated us to so many beautiful flowers and breathtaking views of the valley. Well worth the walk. Loved it. Saturday saw us kayaking (and pup joined us on the Kayaks) as far as we could go. We spent hours exploring the river and it was an incredible adventure. On the way back we floated for a while taking in our surrounds and I’ll never forget this kayak trip. Overall, we had the best time, the location is wonderful, nearby walks and kayaking allowed us to adventure which we love doing, friendly faces to greet you and the property is close enough to town to visit other attractions or do a little shopping. A big thumbs up to Long Thin Farm. I’d highly recommend a stay here. I’ll definitely be back for more weekends away.

We had the most amazing stay at Long Thin Farm - we stayed at Milkwood Cottage over the long weekend with our 2 small children. The cottage was perfect, with the most beautiful views over the river. It was a very peaceful stay, with lots of bird life to enjoy. The river is a short stroll away through the Olive orchard and we spent lots of time down by the river.

What a gem! We absolutely loved our time at Milkwood cottage. The farm is situated in the most beautiful valley, surrounded by fynbos and just a 20min drive from town. Our two dogs had a ball of a time as well. There is a beautiful hike that starts just behind the cottage and a picnic spot to enjoy the river. Definitely worth a visit!

Spectacular stay! I am so happy we found this house for the long weekend. We stayed at the Main House which overlooks the river and have a swimming pool. The house is beautiful and was extremely clean and very well equipped. Also everything in the house is the best quality. It is so peaceful, and the views are amazing. There is wifi and battery back up during loadshedding for the wifi and they also have rechargeable lights that helped a lot. It was really amazing and we can definitely recommend.
