About Belvidere Manor Lagoonside Cottages

Belvidere Manor is situated overlooking Knysna's tranquil lagoon. Built in 1849, Belvidere House has been delightfully restored and presides over 10 acres of landscaped gardens and cottages, each offering spacious accommodation.

Accommodation is in freestanding cottages situated in two hectares of gardens. The single and double storey cottages have either lagoon or garden views. Each cottage has a wide veranda or stoep, a comfortable living room, a fully equipped kitchen and one or two double en-suite bedrooms. In addition, some have a third bedroom or a study, and a dining-room. There is covered parking alongside and the cottages are fully serviced daily. Please see the individual room descriptions with photographs below, to assist you with your choice. Dine al fresco or by the woodstove in The Bell Tavern, Knysna's smallest pub. A sparkling swimming pool, tennis courts and boat trips may add to the fun, but a good book, log fire and a glass of wine is often all that is required. Relax poolside, take a walk and explore the lagoon or play one of the internationally acclaimed local golf courses. What a fantastic stay at Belvidere Manor Lagoonside Cottages! The location is perfect, overlooking the lagoon with absolutely stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped – the electric blankets were a wonderful touch and ensured we had a great night’s sleep. The Bell restaurant is charming, welcoming and very generous. Everything about the experience felt relaxed and special. We truly loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We did not stay overnight and merely popped in for breakfast after a quick cycle trip. If I could rate them less than 0, it would be kind. The breakfast was truly awful and absolutely disappointing and overpriced. Perhaps the kitchen-staff didn’t pitch for work on the workers day public holiday, but they should have declined the breakfast service. Never again! Truly, truly disappointing and they won’t see us ever again!

Views are amazing and the service is really good. Food at the bell is amazing and the service is quick. However we need to make sure the room we booking has lagoon view so we can have the views always from the balcony. The bathrooms/showers and the furniture can be upgraded. Overall it’s a pleasant stay

A lovely place for a getaway! We stayed in a room for the night- was a peaceful stay. Staff were wonderful and breakfast in the morning on the balcony overlooking the garden and lagoon was spectacular
