We visited Rooiberg Lodge for lunch yesterday, and I can honestly say we were blown away. We were in absolute awe of the breathtaking setting. Nestled amongst the mountains with beautifully kept grounds and wildlife roaming nearby, it’s one of the most spectacular places we’ve visited in the Klein Karoo. The service was outstanding. Every waitress we interacted with was warm, welcoming and genuinely friendly, making us feel right at home. The wine selection was impeccable, offering something for every palate. The food exceeded every expectation. Both the beef burger and the crispy chicken burger were absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and packed with flavour. The real star of the meal, however, was the chocolate lava cake served with ice cream. Without a doubt one of the best desserts we’ve ever had. The pavlova was a very close second and was equally exceptional. Rooiberg Lodge has mastered the complete dining experience: incredible food, outstanding service, a fantastic wine list and one of the most beautiful settings imaginable. We left already planning our next visit. Highly recommended ! This is a true hidden gem and a must-visit.

We attended a wedding held here and stayed on the venue. The outdoor wedding itself and reception were absolutely beautiful. The food was so amazing and the staff/service was great. Passmore and Vi were standouts in being so friendly and helpful. The place itself is beautiful and in a valley in the mountains. Beautiful and serene with the most incredible stars at night.

Booked for 7 nights. Never been to the klein karoo before and coming from the noise , stress and hussle of Cpt we were really looking forward to absolute peace, quiet and tranquility that naturaly comes with visiting this type of place. Arriving on Sunday afternoon, we were greeted by zebra and buck crossing the road. That was awesome ! The management and staff are exceptional. I cannot fault anyone. The staff and management I give 10/10 ! However and I mention the next few things with a heavy heart due to the absolute beauty of the location and the lodge. 1. Monday after lunch we lay down for a nap only to have loud music coming from the room next door - 1st instance of the peace and quiet being ruined. Pieter , one of the front office staff quickly sorted this out. 2. From Tuesday morning we moved from the deluxe room to chalet 2 as the view was far better and a quick 2min walk to the resturant / bar area. 3. Tuesday and Wedneday were beautiful. Quiet, peaceful... 4. Then along came Thursday... late afternoon a group of 4 motorcyclists arrive and park their motorbikes directly behind our chalet under the Lofts. Nothing like the sound of reaving motorbikes to break the peace and tranqulity of such a beautiful place . Anyway, thankfully they moved down to the bomba for the evening. We were woken up at 7am on Friday morning by the same guys reaving the motorbikes with one of the group shouting at the top of his voice and swearing. I reported this to management who did apologize. 5. Friday night dinner. A loud drunken group of people sitting on the resturant deck with 2 young children running up n down screaming, another couple inside the resturant watching a video on his cell phone at the table at full volume. All this while we were trying to have a quiet peaceful dinner ? 6. We were supposed to have stayed until Sunday ( 7 nights ) however decided to leave a day early. Saturday lunch time 2 groups of people arrived ( roughly 30 cyclists and roughly 40 people on motorbikes ) who literally took over the entire resturant deck and pool area. As I said, staff are top class but unfortunately if you are wanting to escape to a place for quiet , peace etc make sure that you arrive on Monday and leave by early Friday morning or the quiet you were so desperately seeking will be sadly replaced by noise that you would never expect to find in such a beautiful place called the klein karoo.

Was disappointed that the unit did not have a TV. Wifi signal not great also so evenings are quite boring. Also the drying towels was very disintegrated and they would literally tare as you drying yourself. A few towels was actually already torn and housekeeping did not see a problem with still using it. The toilet seat was chipped in 2 places and actually hurts you when you sit on it. It's maybe 2 start accommodation at best. Really disappointed. Would not recommend Rooiberg Lodge in it's current state.
