About Whale Rock Lodge

Whale Rock Luxury Lodge is located on a half a hectare premises in Westcliff, Hermanus, known as the Whale Watching Capital of the world.

Owners Dave and Anouk Bakker are glad to inform that your host Melanie Musson, together with the Whale Rock team, will continue to look after you during your stay the best way possible and will also welcome your business meeting or other events. Whale Rock Luxury Lodge boasts stunning lush green gardens and from the entrance garden you have a distant sea view. Whale Rock is literately situated across the road of the New Harbour where all Whale Watching Charters board. Walk out of the gate and you'll find the beginning of the famous Cliff Path which takes you on foot along the stunning Whale Coast of Hermanus. With 11 Luxurious individually decorated Rooms Suites, a large solar-heated pool, large lawns and gardens, Whale Rock Luxury Lodge is the perfect retreat for leisure and corporate. This cozy bedroom (Room 11) with King Size bed, en-suite bathroom with separate bath and shower and under floor heating in the bathroom. The room has a private patio with thatch roof. There are 5 spacious Garden Deluxe Rooms (Room No's 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10). Each room has an en-suite bath

Beautiful cosy lodge! We stayed for a night at the end of August, the start of our honeymoon around South Africa. The entrance to New Harbour is basically opposite the lodge, very easy walk to Southern Right Cruises for our whale watching trip the next morning! We also enjoyed the coastal cliff walk up into the town - it starts/ends next to the harbour entrance. For dinner, I highly recommend The Rock nearby for some great seafood - and very cheap too! It’s in the harbour, so just a short walk away. Totally safe, and well lit (after entering the harbour, take the first left down towards the boats, the up the other side). All the staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was great too! We regretted staying only one night :)

Just a short walk from New Harbour, the location is convenient and practical. The room was cosy and clean, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Breakfast was simple but satisfying.
