Beyond the Moon is situated in the foothills of the Outeniqua mountains, in Hoekwil along the Garden Route.

The Forest Venue is the perfect choice for a wedding surrounded by the natural beauty of the Garden Route, and is famous for forest weddings and rustic, chic and barn-style wedding receptions. Little ones are welcome to bring their favourite treats like carrots and apples to feed them. A host of outdoor activities Beyond the Moon is situated in the center of all the Garden Route mountain bike routes and all the trail run routes, making it an ideal base for those wanting to experience these outdoor activities. Wilderness offers a host of outdoor activities like paddling, paragliding, hiking and swimming.En route to Plett, there is a Wolf Sanctuary, Eagle Sanctuary, Snake Park and Water World. At the Crags (just beyond Plett) there’s Birds of Eden, Monkeyland and Jukania (a Wild Cat Sanctuary). Numerous water activities are available locally – water skiing, sailing, canoeing, wind surfing, snorkelling, fishing and whale watching With sprawling lawns and beautiful, tranquil surrounds, Beyond the Moon is the ideal setting for virtually any event, large and proud, or small and intimate. Our rustic indoor/outdoor function room comfortably accommodates 120 people seated at tables or 300 people in theatre-style seating. Bathroom facilities include four toilets and one urinal. A fully-licenced on-site bar is available. The expansive lawns provide the ideal setting for the erection of marquees and Bedouin tents, if required. Share the serenity of this tranquil, 24-hectare piece of heaven nestling in the foothills of the neatly-brushed, lush green Outeniqua Mountains, just 15 minutes from the beaches of Wilderness. This is a precious little place of sanctuary that is something quite unique. Almost ‘otherworldly’, you might say … Which is why we like to call it: “Beyond the Moon.” Escape the world and travel Beyond the Moon. We had a wonderful stay at Beyond the Moon. We stayed in the River Sanctuary. It was beautiful and tranquil. The sound of the river was soothing to the soul and exactly what we needed. The cabin was neat and clean and had all the basics. The manager, Jaco was very helpful and we really enjoyed our stay there without any major issues. The only observation that I have is that for such a special place with such beautiful surroundings, the cabin can really do with some TLC. We found the interior to be a bit neglected. Nothing major, but to fix some hanging curtain rails, and drapings budled up on the livingroom floor because they are way too long are not hard to fix. A well looked after space adds to the overall feeling of care and feeling welcomed. Other than that we had a lovely time and was able to enjoy the peace and quiet. We hope to return soon.

We stayed at River Sanctuary and it was so tranquil and secluded. It was basic but had everything you needed. The outside shower is divine and hot. Staff were very polite and friendly. We received complimentary firewood, which was a bonus. There is no reception, though, which was both a plus and a negative. 😉 All in all a wonderful place with stunning walks close by.
