About El Yolo One

El Yolo One is a working Karoo guest farm situated at the foot of the Swartberg mountain range in the Great Karoo.

Our guests are able to come into close contact with a variety of farm animals such as cattle, sheep, turkeys, ducks, geese, peacocks and chickens. We have tame and wild game such as Eland, Springbok, Kudu and Duiker. Our bird life is extensive. Many wild and endangered wild flowers and flora have been spotted. We offer night game drives and 4x4 routes for the experienced as well as the inexperienced. Hiking trails have been created for the more adventurous hiker or those who wish to take a casual walk. Fascinating Bushman rock paintings can be found in three different caves on the farm. Fossil spotting and unpolluted mountain streams and waterfalls are some of the unusual features of the farm. With en suite bathroom, bar fridge, shared patio. Each with a double bed, en-suite bathroom, kitchenette, bar fridge and private patio. A double room and a twin room forms a free standing private chalet. Each with two single beds, en-suite bathroom, bar fridge and private patio. Friendly people, they felt like family after the first day. Always available to assist. Super nice environment and quiet spaces. Enjoyed the hiking and explorations. Keep an eye on this space, lots of additions and improvements coming

We stayed in a luxury cottage for two nights. Beautiful location, peaceful and serene. Staff on the property were very helpful and kind. Cottage was well appointed, had al we need. LOVELY stay. Beautiful walks in the area. I would not try to reach this place without an SUV, well maintained dirt road.

We were on a cycle tour and I cannot express how fantastic Michael and Helene were. They were friendly, open, warm and couldn't do enough for us. When you've had a long and very hot day and finally get to this beautiful place to be welcomed by them it just makes the toughness of the day seem like a distant memory. A true asset to the guest farm! Thank you to both of them from Rene, Jayne and Liz

On a recent trip through the Karoo, my friends and me were looking for a camping spot near Rietbron. We found Elyolo. What a pleasant experience. The camping site was perfect, tucked away from everything from everything, giving you a true nature experience. It is basic (just as we wanted it), with neat and clean facilities. We only spent one night, but it is certainly a place to spend a couple of days or more. And I cannot forget to mention the friendly reception by Helene. Thank you all. We really enjoyed the stay.
