This was honestly the best stay we have had in the Karoo! We will be coming back here 1000%! This is our new little space of heaven on earth. Ahhhh we love this place sooooo much! The bird life, stars and peace were alp top. Cannot wait to come back again.

Unfortunately my partner & I arrived later than planned, after being on the road from Plett and stopping to see the Valley of Desolation. We stayed in Willow Slopes 3 cottage, one of the best beds & linen we've slept in on our road trips. Lovely patio to relax after a long drive where one can enjoy being in nature. The only thing "negative criticism " island is the drive from Graaf Reniet is 25min, which we alwere aware of, what we weren't told, is that Willow slopes cottages were another 20min drive from reception. The positive was, we were blessed to see quite a bit of wildlife on our drive to the cottage, our free game drive 😅. The staff were helpful and friendly, Martine was quick to reply to any message, thank you. The other staff members, Nadia and George were waiting for us and helped us with our luggage. There are good facilities if one is planning on staying for a few days, enough fridge, freezers, for food, huge pool and some weights for those who want to be active while on holiday. Definitely would recommend Buccara.

My wife & I stayed overnight on 20/12/2022 and for what you get, the accommodation and experience is well over priced. At their rates, one would expect a king size bed at the very least. The place has absolutely no feel of being at a 5 star game lodge whatsoever. The gardens are poorly maintained and full of exotic trees that block the views of the beautiful surrounding mountains and natural bush. Guests are not permitted to self drive through the reserve so one would expect at least one game drive per day to be included based on the pricing. If you're happy to stay in an old run down Karoo farm house at these rates, then this is the place for you. Overall, a VERY disappointing experience for my wife & I. Would definitely not recommend or ever return.
