Owner of the lodge is so impatient with the customers, she doesn't have a room to listen to the customers. It was a worse trip that we had with cold water on the showers and bucks in other rooms. WiFi connection is bad, not a place to visit on a business trip.

We had a wonderful stay at your Lodge outside Aliwal North! The views of the mountains and towards the Orange River were truly breathtaking. We appreciated the neat, clean, and minimalistic accommodation, perfect for a relaxing night's stay. The price was very reasonable considering the excellent service and amenities, earning you a well-deserved 5-star rating! Thank you for the warm and friendly welcome. The roses were in full bloom, making the walks around the lodge an absolute delight.

Eight of us were allocated a 4 bedroom house to share, two couples in 2 bedrooms and 4 men strangers to share 2 bedrooms. My shared room had no door, a window that cannot be latched close. Our cabinet for storing clothing was dusty and had no hangers. The main entrance door does not lock/latch. The floor from the lounge to the bathroom and ourvroom falls off dangerously posing a falling risk, especially for elderlies like my group. There is one bathroom for 1 couple and 4 men. The bathroom has a shower with collapsed glass wall. There is nowhere to place a shaver and clothes. The shower drain pipe discharges onto the ground, not connected to the sewer. There is an electric plug installed in the bathroom which is illegal in SA. This plug is badly installed and loose. There are no bins in the whole house. The house has no gutters and entrance door canopy for protection from rain. There is no fridge and cooking appliances. Generally the house is in an incomplete state and there is evidence that some preused materials like ekectric plugs, electric switches, windows were used in the construction without making them presentable. It is shocking that this house is being rented out in this shoddy state.

I wasn't expecting much owing to the low rating, but I was a little surprised at how little effort was made to make my room functional. Bedside lights didn't work. Had to boil the kettle on the floor. No WiFi access code supplied. No tea supplied and only powder milk. Fridge wasn't running when I got there. These things would not bother me were I not paying for vastly better accommodation. Staff were friendly tho. Sorry that I drove over the garden tap on my way out at 4 am... Perhaps you should move it off the driveway. I really didn't see it.
