Vast Karoo valley with only one road into it. Huge ancient house in the glade with vaulted ceilings & an edge of decay Beautifully restored inside Antiques, persian carpets and Oregon pine floors I'm the only guest rattling around like some aging aristocrat with the minions serving me at a long table. Honor bar, sumptuous breakfast - nothing missing

Incredible elegant colonial house, beautiful inside and outside, with living room with fireplace, dining room, separate sleeping room with imense bathroom, the hosts warm welcome us at arrival at late hour. There are 2 km away from the main road N9 but it worth. Bed is high and very confortable, clasical furniture, high celling, bathroom with very hot water shower and separate bathtube. Very clean, no strange smells, we booked with breakfast . There is a kettle for tea and coffe in the room. I felt like a night back in time.

An absolute gem! We stayed overnight in this beautiful home, which was like an oasis, with beautiful gardens and a stream running through it. Dinner and breakfast was delicious and well worth it. I love the old worldly charm of the rooms. There is a lovely pool to cool down. Mark and Jenée, thank you for being such welcoming hosts. And of course Baxter, the little puppy was very entertaining;)

Absolutely beautiful farmhouse filled with old charm. Loved the history and the feeling of going back in time. I stayed for one night and felt completely at home. Huge rooms, freshly picked flowers, comfy beds, and the biggest shower! Loved my stayed and would love to return for a few days to explore the farm and surroundings.

I so loved staying at Dwarsvlei. The House is full of charm and character. It was so special to be surrounded by such a beautiful vista and enjoy the tranquillity of the Karoo. I will be back. Thank you, Fran and Allan.

Visiting Dwarsvlei there's always something to do. Be it an evening cycle or a morning stroll, there will always be a corner or a koppie you haven't yet explored. Dwarsvlei's natural beauty is engulfing.

A magnificent gem in the karoo. Everything lovingly put together and restored to give an overall rustic,classy weekend experience. The owners have done wonders with the buildings that they have.
