Had a great time at Amakhala with my wife on our honeymoon. Our guide Desmond was fantastic, he was very professional, knowledgeable, and went out of his way to make sure our group seen everything there was to offer at the reserve! The hotel portion of the property was also very nice, the rooms were clean and the food was excellent.

We had an extremely enjoyable time in Amakhala. Driving around the game reserve even though was freezing cold day , we were still able to see numbers of animals such as lions , elephants, giraffes , rhinos and zebra. Our driver was very informative and friendly. We also enjoyed an African buffet lunch with local tribal dance show. All in all very good day and highly recommend Amakhala when you visit Port Elizabeth.

Fabulous day out at Amakhala Game Reserve. Even though we didn't get there until mid morning there were plenty of animals out and about, and the guides liaised by radio to head for the best sightings. Our guide was great and went out of his way to find good things to look at, I was particularly pleased to see a White Rhino wallowing in a mud hole and no less than three Ceetahs. Lunch was great too, very nice food and drink, and the African dancing was a welcome bonus. A big thumbs up.

I hava always wanted to visit South Africa from being a young boy, our 15 night visit culminated in a 3 night stay at Amakhala Bush lodge in a Double Luxury Thatched Tent on an All Inclusive basis. We arrived at 1pm which was plenty of time to have a quick lunch and freshen up before our first game drive at 3pm which we were very excited for. It didn’t disappoint! A fabulous drive lots to see and learn about from our guide Brett who was more than happy to answer any questions and share his excellent knowledge. The drives were twice a day the morning one leaving at 6am generally lasting between 3 and 3 1/2 hours. The food was amazing, the staff couldn’t do enough and our tent, I say tent, it was luxury wooden floored 5 star Brilliant, fabulous, absolutely loved it all!! Go see for yourself 🥰
