Summerwood (Dorothy van der Merwe) provided an excellent venue and superb 80th birthday function on 8 May 2026 for 45 people. Her overnight accommodation was convenient and excellent value for money. My wife and I have used her catering services for about 30 years and she is highly professional and reliable. We thank Dorothy also for her friendliness and willingness to make our function and stay so pleasant.

On the weekend of March the 21st, I had the honour of residing at this timeless classic guesthouse. Upon arrival I was greeted by Madeline: a very competent, friendly,well organised pleasant lady who together with the owner Ms Dorothy - with her kind, loving, caring , hospitable demeanour and the rest of the amazing staff ensured that we were well fed ( I'm sure I gained a few pounds) , well taken care of and accommodated with adequate suitable sleeping rooms etc. The meals were absolutely delicious 😋It was a most memorable experience and I would highly recommend this loadge to anyone travelling to Bloemfontein.🫡 Much thanks and God bless you Until we meet again ❤️🙏
