Excellent location. The food is great though we only ate dinner once. The rooms are warm even in the coldest night. Our room had heated floors, and towel rails both in the bathroom and in the suite. Will most definitely come back again.

One of the best places around and the restaurant food quality is impeccable. I do wish that the menu was more broad but it’s fine. I enjoyed the serene atmosphere and the friendly staff. Prices are a little on the high side but it’s all worth it at the end.

I would recommend for a mature couple that need some peace and quiet. Tranquil beautiful place but it was missing a spark. Location is good as its an hour from Johannesburg. Rooms are above standard I especially appreciated the large bathrooms with heated floors and towel rails. All amenities expected were available. Service was adequate. Polite staff. For the rate charged I would recommend Mount Grace next door if it's your own money but if someone else is paying why not.

Had Christmas 2025 lunch at De Hoek and I loved the food and the spread. Loved the surroundings as well. The only thing that was a 2* is the service from our waiter on the day. VERY inexperienced and was too familiar and forgot he was on the job at a 5* establishment. Waiters need to be trained accordingly!
