My husband and I got married on 6 March 2026. Weddings are expensive, and finding a beautiful venue within a budget is really difficult. My mom found Keurboom Functions on Facebook, and it looked okay in the photos. We decided to take a chance and go have a look — and it was love at first sight. It was the most beautiful place, and honestly, the photos don’t do it justice. We spoke to the owner and were given two options: Option 1: We could pay a certain amount per person, plus all the other costs that made my husband’s and my head spin. It was much cheaper than most other venues, but still out of our budget as two students. Option 2: Self-catering — meaning we do everything ourselves. She also gave us the option to pay everything off in advance. Our wedding worked out to just over R25 000, which included the venue, the photographer, and the DJ — all the important things were included. We paid it off over the course of a year. There were massive braai areas available, a swimming pool, and two halls. Everything was exactly the way we wanted it. Because we chose self-catering, we were responsible for the side dishes and other extras ourselves. If we ever got stuck, the owner helped us with love and kindness, and we also gave her a little extra money for helping. It truly was, and still is, the best day of our lives. On the day, it rained and we had to consider having the ceremony indoors. I didn’t want that, and I prayed for the rain to stop. The cushions for the ceremony seating were soaking wet from the rain, and we were extremely nervous. The owner, out of her own kindness, went to fetch new cushions — which we did not have to pay for — and made sure everyone could sit comfortably and stay dry. This is honestly the best place to start your new life together. You will never regret it. The negative comment that was left came from someone who was not part of the full wedding experience and is simply assuming things. I’m leaving a few photos of the venue so you can see for yourself how absolutely stunning it is.

Our experience at this wedding venue was absolutely amazing. The venue itself was beautiful, the atmosphere was lovely, and the entire day felt special from start to finish. This was largely a self-done wedding, so it was not necessary for the venue staff to intervene too much, but whenever they did step in to help, it truly made a big difference and helped us a lot. We really appreciated their support and kindness throughout the day. From our side as the bride and groom, we felt there was more than enough help and assistance available whenever needed. Everything ran smoothly, my wife and I enjoyed every moment, and all of our guests had a wonderful time as well. Thank you to the venue and staff for helping make our wedding day such a special and memorable experience.

As the mother of the groom, I was very disappointed with our experience at this venue, particularly regarding the coordination and support on the day. The venue itself is beautiful, but unfortunately the coordination was extremely lacking. The assigned coordinator was rarely present during important moments and, when she was available, she was unhelpful and came across as quite unkind. During what should have been a joyful and organized event, we were often left without guidance or assistance. For a wedding venue, professional coordination and support are essential to ensure the day runs smoothly for the couple and their families. Sadly, this was not our experience. I hope the venue will review their coordination services so that future weddings receive the support and professionalism that such an important occasion deserves.
